I take it there was some subtle licensing issues going on there, or maybe just someone was misinformed.

Or maybe I am the one who is misinformed. Last I heard it was 'The Blues' or (much more appropriately, considering performance over the last few years) 'The Tractor Boys'. Clearly neither of those have the punch for a video game eh? I'm no big football fan, but some of those other ones sounded off too.

Age of Empires II was the first game I ever played obsessively, I haven't played in many many years, but I still remember most of the cheat codes. I have so much nostalgia for that game.

Here's some trivia for you, in the UK we call them computer games, trivia concluded.

@ethan_raiden: That's changing though. I hear and say video games a whole lot these days. I think it's because of the internet.

I still say computer games for PC games though.

@zeg: EA has monopoly over the license of many football leagues. Everyone else has to make up imaginary names, logos and whatever else. Thankfully there is a way around it. PES and this game have editing tools that give the option to walk around this nonsense. Football Manager is very well supported by the community in this regard.

I love having more content and I hope they continue with a show every Wednesday of some sort. I do agree that this show doesn't really work, especially for Giantbomb.

Firstly, there just isn't enough quality new content out each and every week to make a show like this sustainable and interesting.

Second, this show really seems more geared toward Gamespot and less Giantbomb. We already see Quick Looks for a lot of this stuff over here. So in many cases we are just watching another 15-20 minutes of games we have already seen. Maybe this is helpful for Gamespot, but it doesn't do much for Giantbomb.

Third, the show tends to feel more regimented and by the numbers. One of the great things about Giantbomb is the spontaneity and complete randomness. Thank God Vinny and Drew are around to toss in a little flavor.

I do hope that some kind of Wednesday show stays on, because more content is already great. As others have said, maybe a retro Wednesday or something where you look back at classics games from previous generations. Just something that allows the Giantbomb crew to do what they do best without trying to fit into some kind of standard format.

Oh fucking lord make it happen YES! I would kill (but not really) for this type of show - easily some of the best content I think, when they devote a TNT to or have segments on unprofessional fridays dealing with old ass games. The Lucasarts retrospective was wonderful, and I have actually seen the 3DO TNT a few times now.

GB dudes, please listen to this man's (thugg's and mine) wisdom and seriously consider it! I believe we have a ton of nostalgia hounds in the community.

It's a real shame that the last Professional Wednesdays was the BEST Professional Wednesday.

Think about it. No Chris Waters. No obnoxiously awkward Gamespot people. [I really liked Peter] Just the right balance of games and shenanigans, and they made a super dry week for games a lot of fun.

If/when they do the Game of the Month show, they should keep this exact crew.

Bunch if uncultured Command and Conquer scrubs.

But I agree with you. I've been enjoying Chris' interaction with the Bomb Crew.

@ntm: I like a host to be more of a straight-man, so basically the opposite of Jeff. Jeff does a good job of asking interesting questions and being funny (plus his face looks hilarious), but I liked the whole dynamic that Chris brought in. Chris just needs to dial back the contrived jokes a bit (which he's already done to an extent) and he'll be fine. In the last show he was in he got some nice banter going with Ryan...that is, whenever Ryan wasn't trying to make him cry.

He said last week he would be in Sweden. Probably something DICE related....BF4 EXCLUSIVE GAMESPOT INTERVIEW on the way!!!

Where was GameSpot this week? I actually really enjoyed this show as like a nice mixup of GameSpot and GiantBomb duders playing new releases together, it gave me a chance to get to know people like Chris, Kevin, Maxwell and others. But seriously, this week we get ONE GameSpot dude for what's supposed to be a GS/GB show? Pretty weak.

Still a good show overall, for sure. Just wish it didn't really feel like certain parties had given up entirely.

Sorry, that probably sounded rather sarcastic. Personally I haven't called them computer games in a looong time. Probably since the heady days of Spectrums, Commodores, Amigas etc. Nowadays it's all just video games for me.

Or maybe I've just blindly absorbed Americanisms into my vocabularly... Dunno really...

Man this is a dull week for videogames, well except for Guacamelee I guess.

The Motocross Madness game looked surprisingly decent. If it's only 10-15 bucks I might actually buy it.

Wow, guy who can transform into goat was in the Guacamelee section. I remember the devs mentioning it back in the e3 2012 podcasts.

Paused the video player for a minute, pressed play, stuttered for a bit, then went to black. Playback speeds are also sub-par, and in some of my devices I can't play videos unless they are on Youtube.

Am I alone in this? Do we all agree that the player is kind of broken?

Anyway, Jeff leading this one is something I can get behind. It turns from "new release show" and into "random GB show with some Gamespot people in it", but hey, that's an improvement as far as I'm concerned.

I've been writing these texts all night.
Just trying to get it right.

It's hard to do but it's now really sound.
You know I feel I've done my profession proud.

Then the script gets changed and nothing's the same.
I ain't got time for this game.

I'm fine with them switching the show to a monthly format, especially if this means we get Random PC Game/Load Our Last Save episodes on an at least somewhat regular basis.

Oh and thanks for letting me know that there's an HD version of AOE2, gonna go buy that right away.

Don't do it, man. It's overpriced and a really crappy port.
