Wait, haven't they covered this before? I don't remember the animations or art looking this clean though. Probably an old UPF.

The whole travel through these somewhat representative depictions of three eras of 2D platformer art styles isn't doing anything for me though. Maybe I just got my fill of that with Evoland, which apparently has a sequel now, or maybe I just would've appreciated that if it actually looked and animated the part. That aside, the actual evolving mechanic looks fun.

I hope this will be released on PS4 in Europe too.

Wasn't expecting to be as into this as I was. Looks nice, seems to have enough mechanical complexity to stay interesting and has decently funny writing. I might pick it up.

Nah, it's useful for telling you when you drop that low. I think the continuous beeping is a bit much. It'd probably work better if it blended in more but was still noticeable, like a throbbing heartbeat.

@danryckert "Gimmick" is a word anyone who didn't drop out of high school in freshman year will use regularly, it has absolutely zero to do with wrestling (which actually uses it incorrectly quite often). Please don't treat basic English as "wrestling talk".

Great another pixel platform. As someone that didn't grow up on this stuff, I am getting pretty sick of these.

This game looks like a bizzaro version of Evoland and A Pixel Story.

Not sure if it brings enough new ideas to the table.

To be fair it sounds to me like he knows that but might realize that Dan Ryckert saying anything even sort of wrestling related sounds even more wrestling related than it should.

I fucking hate this kind of art style. "Ooo look at our retro graphics!" Except everything looks like a Flash animation, all floaty and bouncy, which is unutterably WRONG for pixel art.

@theht: It's been out on Wii U and I believe 3DS for a couple months now. I know I've had it for at least a month on Wii U and obviously it doesn't look as sharp as the PS4 version, so that might have been what you saw. I don't think the animations are any different though.

This looks like a fine enough platformer, but I don't see how the gimmick relates to the game in any way. Like, there's the multiple forms but those forms could be anything. So why retro graphics? Who associates Atari games with jumping on heads and hovering, or NES games with wall jumping and running fast?

I feel like I played this a long time ago. Was there ever some kind of early build available on the internet?

The PC and Wii U versions came out like 2 months ago.

@amyggen: Hard to just assume he "obviously" knows something after he couldn't even tell who a main character in "his favorite piece of entertainment ever made in any medium ever" was on multiple occasions. I could totally see him thinking "gimmick" was a term coined or at least popularized by Vince McMahon.
