I don't really see what's enhanced about this, this looks exactly like I remember all Infinity Engine games. I liked Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment and Icewind Dale a lot, but that D&D combat was always so slow and boring, I never finished any of them (also, I get distracted by sidequests a lot until I forget what I was supposed to do and give up.)

PS: Can't you press H to remove the HUD? At least I think you could in BG2 and forward.

I know he is EXTREMELY busy at the moment, especially with the "beta" of the new site coming out hopefully this month, but no Dave for this Quick Look seems really weird to me :'(

I hate that the website selling this game requires me to make an account. Is my personal information worth more than the 20 dollars you're selling the game for? Now I'm not going to buy it.

I dunno, I feel like I use 'queer' to mean 'odd' more often than I do 'gay'. I do use 'gay' to mean 'homosexual' more often than 'happy' though.

It's always great going back to influential games like this and seeing where many of the great RPGs this generation got their influence from.

Baldurs Gate 1 with BGtutu installed seems more enhanced than this "enhanced edition". A shame, really.

Why is he selecting his dudes ONE BY ONE when they're all just attacking the same target..? And if the tool tip delay bothers him then WHY DOESN'T HE JUST CHANGE IT? I can't watch this video.

I've never used queer in any context to be honest and if I want to say someone is 'odd' i'd say 'weird'. Also gay has a totally different meaning to me, that I won't get in to at this moment :P.

Ironically, I find I use it mostly when doing tabletop games, you need the vocabulary for 'strange' to build the sorts of mini-mysteries about things; "You hear a [dramatic pause] a queer noise from the other room, you can't quite put your finger on it. It sounds ..."

I knew this was going to be a bit tough to watch but him using all his spells on the first enemy then just sending everyone, including rogues and mages, to stand toe to toe with dudes and just trade blows...

See, Ryan, it's not that games got better. They got simpler and require you to think less. You seem to be forgetting how old this game's core is. Sure, gear comparison windows are handy, but it's really not that much of a pain to do it manually.

Over the last month I played Planscape Torment for the first time. No prior experience and no nostalgia and man is that game still fantastic. Combat isn't great, wasn't great when it was released from what I understand but the world, the characters, and the story are all still incredible.

Now I need to decide whether to play this or just skip it and get Balder's Gate 2 on GoG.

Matt Rorie should of been brought in for this.

This doesn't seem enhanced at all.

Hint for people new to Baldur's Gate..myself included(I learned this the hard way):

-ALWAYS- quick save every few seconds or before dialogue and/or before resting,so in case you die you can reload.

-Put tooltip delay on around 15-20% so you have to wait only 1-2 seconds before seeing the items/npc's you hover over (very helpful).

Ugh. Really wish Dave had been able to do this one. It's kind of irritating watching Ryan muddle through this. not his fault in any way, bit still irritating.

Stop breaking my heart Dave. If you want story you go for Torment, if you want exploration you go BG2, and if you want combat you go ID.
