Quick Look: Beyond Good & Evil HD

Used to love this game, glad to see it back at last. I actually think that while it's aged it has aged pretty well. Compared to a lot of games from back then it stands up pretty well.

I love this game sooo much, but I don't own an Xbox - so, are there any rumors about HD version coming on Steam ?

Wow this looks super awesome. If only I didn't have to play about 5 other games. I feel like I should buy this in the hope that they make good on BG&E2

Don't even bother arguing with these kids. Some people just focus on the negativity in everyone. I realise that its usually more worthwhile writing a forum post if there's an actual point behind it. Disagreeing with someone has a point for discussion. So does pointing out a fact. Just saying OMG I LOVED THIS GAME isn't really productive. Thats why I'm known to be negative here. Hmmmm, this looks pretty interesting. I never got into it when it originally came out, mostly because I didn't really know what kind of game it was. I may have to check this out.

I don't know why I can't be moved to care about this game. 
 
Gonna give it a deeper try over the spring break, though.

BRING BACK RADIAL TEXT INPUT

Checked out Jeff's review of the game, not the HD version, and one of his criticisms is that it is short, while in the QL they say it's of decent length.  
So... I guess the game is better now then, since one of the things that was bad is now okay?

Anyway, I'd never actually seen any gameplay of this before, so I wasn't really sure what kind of game it was. Therefore I wasn't interested at all when this HD version was announced, despite all the people praising this game.  
My thoughts after watching this QL: I'm going to download the trial right now.

I enjoyed this game in the day, but it is very overrated. I can't really get into the art direction, either. It's just... underwhelming and bland to me.

It seems that they don't even have the decency to give a real release date for the PS3.  "Later this year" could mean 30 days, given many previous MS exclusives.   I hate exclusives that aren't first-party titles, temporary or not.  Why should I be able to play a game, when my friend cannot or vise-versa?  At least they're far less of a common occurrence these days.  I won't be purchasing this until all my console brothers and sisters get the chance to enjoy the HD upgrade.  (Besides, I have too much to play as it is.)
 
Great game though.  I have it a copy of the SD version already.

i like stealth mechanics

Loved this game when it came out. I think the soundtrack was what got me interested. Oh and it has Rasta Rhinos. Mammagoooo. Aaaaand I'm back in.

Just played this in its entirety in one sitting. Damn fine game. Hope there'll be a sequel.

I loved this game when it came out, and I've already bought it and am looking forward to playing it again.  One big complaint with the camera/controls, though.  If you use inverted controls, it automatically inverts the x-axis in third-person view as well.  You can change the camera controls to 'normal' but then the y-axis is no longer inverted.  So either I'm looking left when I want to look right (or vice versa), or I'm looking up when I want to look down (or vice versa).  Maybe back when it came out on PS2, those camera controls were acceptable, but now that controls have become more standardized (and better), having a goofy inverted x-axis that you can't flip independently is a real pain.  Luckily, BG&E is one of my favorite games ever, so I'm gonna power through, but I'm severly disappointed.

i missed this when i first came out ... lucky i get a second chance to get it :D

 I enjoyed this game in HD seven years ago.  BTW it's available in HD on gog.com and steam already.  PC master race.

I think I may have to get this game, looks very interesting. I loved these kind of games when I was younger.

Am I going to buy this for the third time? Probably. But I expect a sequel now!

I don't get how they're saying so many things of the game are dated. IMO I think the mechanics haven't even aged. And sections where the camera control is taken away from you? WTH, that's in modern games too. 

The loading time was much shorter in the old version, still fine in this ofc. 

I love that Overworld Theme. God, it's beautiful. 
 
Just realized that "Entering the Cave" and "Mysterious Bulter" music is very reminiscent of the Dark City score. 
 
Companies don't pull out random IP's out of their musky closets if they're not actively thinking about them. I maintain that this is all part of a bigger plan. I'm frankly surprised that, a few days post release, no blog has posted any kind of reference to the sequel to the game, preferably and unlockable teaser after 100%-ing the game. Ubisoft would have to be retarded to squander this opportunity... 
 
I'm always baffled by how the GB crew fail to comprehend game mechanics. The camera says, "bad framing". Hence, go to where you'd get better framing! Use your partner's Super Action! I always feel like an asshole because it makes me think, "I'm way smarter than them," but to me it's second nature learned after... much time of gaming - certain patterns are built into your brain about how things work. I don't understand why similar structures are not in place in their brains.

Speaking of HD remakes from that era that need to happen...ETERNAL DARKNESS HD PLEASE!!!

You cannot invert the Y axis in this game.  I have been playing games all my life, and I always play inverted.  Back on the Gamecube, this was a deal breaker for me.  Years later for the HD version, it is still a deal breaker.  It's the little things that count, why make a game you want a lot of people to play and not give them the freedom to play it the way they want.  Inverted is embedded in my DNA.

I think I saw a news thing where its releasing May 3rd for PSN. So ya dunno. 
 
I never played this back in the day but I have it on my hard drive waiting to be played. Just not sure if I want to jump into a 10 hour experience right now.
