Seriously I get so pumped just watching this, the one-hit nature is so exciting. It's a phenomenal feat of game design to make something that's so simple but so effective.

I think it certainly appeals more to people who are already into fighting games, and I guess that's why it's okay for so many of the jokes to be so FGC-specific: if you like DiveKick, it's probably because you already like fighting games.

For those of you who don't really know fighting games and still aren't sure why this is cool, it's about how DiveKick strips out almost every feature leaving the most important rule of almost any fighting game: position is everything. It's all about where you are relative to your opponent, and how you move in relation to them. It's also very easy for people to get into, so it can just be a fun twenty-minute thing you show to your non-fighting-game-fan friends and they can enjoy for a bit, if that's what you need.

Still the game looks completely uninteresting to me. Probably because I don't really like fighting games.

The Baz was funded by "Two Best Friends". They also happen to be giant bomb fans. It's kinda weird having the giant bomb crew talk about "The Baz" even though he's in the game.

I honestly dont see the point in this game. You are basically hitting one button and attacking your opponent.

I don't understand the hype, but I'm also not into the fighting game scene.

ppl who don't get it should watch some EVO top 8 divekick matches. also watch more FGC twitch streams to get all the jokes. it's more than a dumb concept, it's the mindgames of most fighting games condensed into accessible gameplay. people who are good at fighting games will still dominate newbies

Flash Game of the Year you guys

I'm happy for the team at One True Game Studios. It's hard enough to make games, but it's another thing entirely for your game to get attention. Can't wait for Tuesday so I can play and participate in the GB tournament!

If nothing else, this game could serve as an entry point to fighting games. It covers the fundamentals without being overwhelming, and without any sort of execution barrier.

Man, the jokes in this game are SUPER specific. I have no idea who these characters are supposed to be (bar Seth Killian and the Twitch chat dude).
