The opening song for this game, and the show, is probably the best part.

I used to watch some lame, lame, laaaaaame shows when I was younger...but even those were more exciting than this, after watching a handful of episodes. Gawd, even Bold and The Beautiful had faster progression in terms of plot.

These QLs, however, are rather entertaining. Though the PSP one is still superior when compared. Which reminds me, I think it's time for a rewatch...

Seems ok, but that beam struggle between vegeta and goku looked kinda terrible, and you were barely involved in it. ehh.

I have the softest of spots for dragon ball and dragon ball things

Compared to the old games the combat looks pretty boring, way too much cut-scenish press-one-button action.

I was into the show for quite a while, but it became so boring and silly that I stopped watching it.

It´s no fun looking for ten minutes at the faces of the fighters while they shout their lines about how strong they are and nothing else is happening.

God DAMN this looks terrible.

This is, without a doubt, the best DBZ Quick Look Giant Bomb has ever done:) It was actually entertaining. Usually Ryan just complains that there's another Dragonball game out there, but there was actually good energy to it. And good energy means funnier jokes.

I can't for the life of me figure out what part of this is interactive. It looks like for every 1 second you spend hitting buttons to make guys punch and kick, you gotta strap yourself in for a 10-15 sec QTE, and that's how the entire fight flows. Bonkers. I personally got out after Budokai 3 for PS2; they got either too Quicktimey or too complicated after that. This didn't change my mind.

Also, I gotta agree with Vinny. I do not like the art style. The "Normal 3D Shading", but with linework on the textures, and generic particle effects? They could've tried much harder to actually look like a cartoon - just look at CyberConnect 2's mind blowing work with the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games. That cel shader is world class; they also rig, and animate, their characters with unbelievable amounts of skill. And even their particle effects are custom made to look like 2D animation. DBZ's particles are generic clouds, and the rigging here in Ultimate Tenkaichi? Well...let's just say, Ryan was totally right about those mouths :)

Still, really entertaining "Quick" look. Best one ever for a DBZ game. Can't wait till next year's!

@mrcraggle: Same:P That, and the fact that when I had played it to death and wanted my mates to do some versus, I devistated them so they got angry and didn't wanna play anymore...

@Olivaw: nahh, they did have some of it before. I remember In DBZ:BT2 the whole stage blew up and turned into massive craters and wasteland on the biggest attacks. you could also kick/punch people trough buildings/mountains. It looks slightly better here, but felt better in before, as you could fly around allot easier and not just get the asigned angles.

Definitely happy I watched this. Looks like fun but would get old quickly, so I'll pass.

They need to devote this much time and energy to a One Piece game

Man, the mouth-work in this is goddamn hilarious. Even if you were to change it to Japanese voices, it'd still look all weird.

I'd prefer this to older Tenkaichi, but Budokai (3) is still #1.

As much as the gameplay looks repetitive, I kinda want the rest of the stuff surrounding it. I guess I am a huge Dragon Ball fan.

Dragon Ball Z seems so crazy, but it makes for one entertaining Quick Look.

I've never played a DBZ game but is it possible to set the voices to Japanese with English subtitles?

I forgot how exponentially crazier Dragon Ball Z got the longer it went on even though it was already super crazy.

If you're going to make us watch the Youtube version of the video, at least upload it in 480p. The video looks like garbage in 360p.

What's up with the voices from the actual show? They sound like shit and completely different from what I remember or maybe I've been watching too much DBZ: Abridged.

My biggest problem with the game is the whole fighting system is based on 50/50 guessing. Wanna start a combo? Hope you don't hit the same button as the other guy. The only way the AI is going to get more difficult is by letting you get combos in less, so yeah, as cool as it looks, it looks like the most shallow gameplay from the whole series so far.

I think I'm just biased because I compare every new DBZ game to Budokai 3, which after all this time, is still by far the best DBZ game. Raging Blast was a massive disappointment because it was supposed to basically be Budokai 4, but ended up being bad for reasons I can't even remember. Didn't like that game at all.

Man, I don't know ANYTHING about Dragonball Z.

The only thing I've ever read was regular-ass Dragonball which was pretty funny. Didn't enjoy it once it turned into a powerlevel fest.
