Just started playing the original on steam for free, been wondering if it is worth the jump to pay to play on my couch. Hooray!

How much do you want to bet the Priest, Mage, and Thief class will be DLC?

EDIT: There is no reason why this game should be running so slow. Good god this is bad.

You know, if Nexon wasn't such shit at customer service, I'd be recommending this game to anyone with xbox live access in hopes of getting them interested in the pc version which is pretty damn fun, and free.  But god help you if some glitch or another flags your account along with many others as hackers and thus preventing any gold or drops to be found in a dungeon.  That particular problem took Nexon about two months to clear up.  Then there's continued lack of security on Nexon's side that has allowed passwords to be slipped out, resulting in the digital pin pad function to lock you out of your own account as multiple failed tries is designed to do such a thing.  Sounds all good until you realize the function to reset your pin pad will sometimes simply not work for weeks at a time.  

I didn't even know that this was a thing.. huh.

So... slow game week?

I'm so done with anime, have been for many years now.

"Hey, here's another Quick Look where we shit on a game for thirty minutes."

If you have nothing positive to say about a game whatsoever, why even do a QL? I wish there was some variety in the actual tone of these Quick Looks. The constant, unabated negativity is wearing thin.

There's something odd about a character so tall that his normal attack passes over nearly every single mob type that you encounter, forcing you to aim downwards almost all the time. Just some odd.. design choices here.

On second thought, why pay 10 dollars when you can get the superior version free. (Korean version, but the English version is up to date as far as everything in the video iirc.  I stopped playing right before this class came out.)

The animation in this game is awful.

Played DFO for a good while... Thought it was cool that it had MMORPG elements but played like a 2D beat'em up and you could use a controller. It was fun at first but then it became apparent that it was super grindy and repetitive. Plus there were major issues with hackers and gold buyers. Anyway, I eventually uninstalled the game and haven't looked back.

Also, I spent about $80 total on avatars/items, but I was able to break even when I sold my +13 katana on my way out.

@Napalm: I personally like the criticism for a game that appears to be sub-par. I'd rather they act natural and tell it how they feel, rather than try to see positives that might be few and far between.

So instead of more Dwarf Fortress, we get this shit?

Actually, it looks a helluva lot like Sabretooth to me. I can see Venom too, but that fur collar is totally straight out of Sabretooth.

@Blister: well if your video card has hdmi out you can just move your computer to the couch and play it on a t.v.

Is it just me, or is there a lot of slowdown in this game? I mean, like every screen when they're fighting at the edges?

@Napalm: It could be that, since it's a slow week for games, they wanted to put out something rather than nothing.

Not trying to apologize for the GB crew. I agree that seeing a ton of bad game QLs is a bummer.

They usually do find something. And, sure it's worth it. The Quick Looks serve a very similar purpose to reviews on this site. They don't have the staff to play through and review every game - especially these smaller releases - so they do a quick to produce video instead. We get their impressions, and that may inform out decisions on a purchase. And the way the site works - a huge focus on personal voice - we will know based on what they say and what we see whether we would enjoy it personally, regardless of their thoughts.

No. It was a quick looks with the dudes. It was some side scrolling game like this and had a sword.

I can immediately tell that the first enthusiastic posts I am reading here are from people who have yet to actually watch the Quick Look. From watching the Quick Look of this game, this game is a major turn off and I feel exactly the same as Jeff and Vinny in that this game is heavily overpriced. 
 
That said, it is probably because this is a game geared towards the people who follow this series of games or something similar which is very niche. Nothing wrong with that at all and I can respect that. But as an outside viewer, this game makes me sad.

Jeez lots of complaints about this quick look. Personally I'm surprised they played it as long as they did, I could only watch a few minutes. That music.

I actually think the idea of this game has potential. A more streamlined DF experience without all the grinding and fetch quests. A lot of the higher level attacks are pretty bad ass looking. I'd play this arcade version if it was better produced and built from the ground up to cater to the platform. Add a lot more frames in the animation, more responsive gameplay, along with a better story (and story delivery), then you might be on to something.
