Quick Look: F1 Race Stars

I love F1.

Fast cars go fast.

I could see this outselling the main game in the US with the USGP this weekend.

I'm didn't expect to say this, but this seems kind of fun :o

This actually looks pretty good, really like the art style and the game has a sense of speed other kart racers don't have.

Do you Americans watch F1? I thought that was a more of a European thing?

looks fun, I think the F1 branding actually might put some kids off? idk just my thought.

The lack of drifting takes a bit of getting used to. I played through the demo a few times and eventually it started feeling less awkward, I guess.

This isn't the All Stars I'm looking for..........(PlayStation All Stars)

No one that I know. My dad watches Nascar...that's about it. Doesn't appeal to me personally. But I do love racin games!

Doesn't look too bad, Hitting right at the same time as Sonic & Allstars racing is a little poorly timed probably.

Drew is a really good quick looker, glad he's doing more lately.

I've been disappointed with the lack of improvement on the core F1 games, and wasn't expecting to like this at all. But, the art style is brilliant and kind of looks like it plays fairly well.

Might wait until it comes down in price.

Christ, does that look like a dull driving experience.

Actually looks pretty good. Really like the art style. Even has a slight resemblance to the actual tracks like the Monza starting chicane on the Italy track. Still, also wonder if kids are that interested in the F1 branding.

Should've brought on Brad SCHUMACHER!!!

I have no interested in playing this but I have to admit it looks pretty nice .

F1 2012 was great, on PC not played the console version. what improvements are you waiting for.

Americans in general? No. I will watch an occasional race though, if it's on TV. Most of the problem is that F1 isn't heavily broadcast or advertised here.

The funny thing is that Heikki Kovalainen has an Angry Birds helmet design, which can be seen here. Advertising!

This looks good, wish it was a 20 dollar download though. Art style is pretty great.

Its like Nascar but with better cars and an actual track designer.

This looks good in every way that LBPK is lacking.

It is more of a Euro thing. There's a strong following here in Canada (thanks to us having one of the more "legendary" circuits) but the following in America is much smaller. Its only coverage is on SPEED (Which will be transfered to NBC next year) and those I do know in America who watch it torrent the British Sky F1/BBC coverage. :T

Hopefully the new track in Texas brings a stronger following here. We could use it!

For anyone almost sold on this thanks to the art style - play the demo! I found the actual part where you drive and race to be really bad. There's no real sense of speed and no power sliding/drifting around corners. No power sliding might make sense because you're driving F1 cars, but then there's so much understeer on the corners which is really unlike the behaviour you would expect from F1 cars. I couldn't get into any sort of balanced rhythm in a race. You have to slow down so much for corners and it just feels uncomfortable and sluggish.

Theres alot of great work being done on these tracks! Belgium having Eau Rouge, Abu Dhabi having the ferrari park roller coaster and the last few corners etc. They did great by the drivers too. As an F1 fan, I think they may have done better with this then F1 2012. I mean McLaren steals stuff from other teams! Thats the 100million dollar feature!

The UBS strips on the german track got me thinking I wonder if they would have to have correct sponsor logos on each track they licensed. Even though it's a friggin' kart game! And grats on getting all the names right!

@aurahack: The new track looks really good (From what I played in F1 2012) so I do hope that people show up and care! The Canada track is pretty great too, it's one of my favourites. It's kind of dirty in codemaster f1 games how you can cut the last chicane though and not lose any speed going into a hot lap for qualifying :P Just getting a warning for cutting the track

This is so weird. Looks like it could be fun if you like kart racers but it's like that Nascar game from a few months back, such an odd combination.

This is surprising a good looking game. As a big F1 fan the tracks have a lot of nice touches from the real tracks and surrounding areas. It was neat that Abu Dabi had the Ferrari World roller coaster built in. This also appears to be a million times better than Jimmie Johnson's Anything with an Engine.

That sounds EXACTLY like the behaviour you would expect from F1.

Michael Schumacher and Nico Hulkenburg dominating races? A bit of wishful thinking on the developers' part, eh?

I was expecting awful, and I got pleasantly whimsical and fairly competent. Not bad. Not my kind of thing anymore, but I would've loved this back in the day of Diddy Kong Racing/Mario Kart 64.

This actually looks pretty fun.

I have to say, that is an absolutely gorgeous game! Though, I'm not a big fan of having to use breaks in cart racers, but overall, it seems alright.

Arguably, he might be the best one actually.

This looks legitimately interesting as a kart racing game. They're using their F1 license pretty well (like KERS being boost mechanic), the characters look sort of like the real thing and the overall style is nice.

Didn't expect this to be a well-controlling kart racing game with a great art style, online play, and a good value.

Why would anyone buy this over any other kart racing game? All the other ones are cheaper, used. Just get one of those.

Nice they picked Pastor Maldonado wich is from Venezuela! ... and kind of a terrible driver -.-

Reminds me of the end of Wreck-It Ralph. It's totally cheating that she can teleport. Why would anyone ever play that game?
