My reaction to this "OHHOHOHOHOAhashhoaa! Surprise Fez Quick Look!"

I don't think I'm going to watch this right now. I've heard a lot, but seen very little of this game so I think I may just let it be a surprise for me come Friday. Nothing quite like that sense of discovery, in my opinion. Here's to hoping it lives up to the hype!

I have no idea what this game is, but the hype surrounding it is crazy.

@kishinfoulux: Phil Fish might deserve your scorn, but I don't see why Fez does.

But jesus, I am so fucking sick of this type of game. I have "2d retro throwback indie platformer"-fatigue. Its kind of starting to eclipse the shooter fatigue I had a while ago.

I'm going to pretend this is Cave Story 2 when I play it.

I guess I'll continue to have enough money for Trials Evolution then.

I am torn between my desire to consume as much FEZ-related content as possible and my equally strong desire to avoid watching any further gameplay so as to save as much of the game as possible to be experienced firsthand. ARGH.

Sure I'll play it, but I am kind of disappointed to hear the game has a hard time letting you know where to go and what to do. With a game like this, something like that seems like it can be super frustration super fast.

I dunno. I like the look and the sound design, but the game itself seems...boring, I guess? The puzzles seem like they solve themselves; just rotate until you get where you need to. Maybe it gets harder?
 
I've been playing Crush 3D over the last couple weeks - which this game sorta reminds me of and why I bring it up, they both have mechanics that deal with using perspective changes to solve puzzles - but Crush's puzzles are actually pretty difficult and quite engaging. This seems a lot more low key, maybe that's why it isn't grabbing my attention. I can't seem to put my finger on it, exactly.

Those symbols on that bell remind me of Riven

@LooseChange: Yes it is. He also condemned an entire nation (Japan) for making crappy games despite crappy games existing everywhere.

Those are some pretty orthographic projections if ya know what I mean...

I agree. I like the look, the music, the atmosphere but, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of engaging gameplay. Is the story really good? Does it ever get challenging? Normally this sort of game is right up my alley, but I need something to pull me in; the challenge and precision of Meat Boy, the puzzle aspects of Braid and World of Goo, that sort of thing.

Sound mix was a little off. Blame the audio guy.

It looks neat but i don't get what all the hype was about, maybe later levels are better?

How on earth did it take 5+ years to make this game?
