Quick Look: FLOCK!

Perfect abduction! Game looks really annoying D:

I was getting frustrating just watching. It looks like it's got a lot of good things going for it, unfortunately the gameplay isn't one of those things.

Looks like a lame game for $15. 

That's disappointing. The idea and looks seem pretty neat, but I couldn't see myself enjoying that game too much. It's cool that there's a tractor beam, but I think that UFO ship should do more crazy stuff. Then again, it seems like Jeff still had some ways to go. Ah well; this did not sell me. Shame.

I have Flock! for the PC and an xbox360 pad is definitely recommended. If you use the mouse you can only click where the UFO should go so you not only have imprecise controls, but you have *indirect* imprecise controls :)

Apart from that it's a funny game, the controls are really the only problem I have, albeit kind of a big problem...

Well, I am glad you guys did this, because this game looked really good to me before, but those controls look very imprecise and archaic. Too bad...I guessed it is a missed opportunity.

I remember a while back the guys from that podcast NoobToob were saying this will be garbage. this was months ago. i was never looking forward to this and i couldnt understand where all the hype was coming from, i kept seeing news articles for it. 

Game looks like a waste of life.

I'd still get it, but not for $15.

Unfortunately having a mouse on the PC version doesn't make the game any less frustrating to play.

Played the Xbox demo yesterday. Controls are indeed pretty annoying and imprecise. The game is difficult because of this, not because the actual challenge.

I don't think this game looks like it is worth the $15.

Man the demo was so frustrating. Two levels in the game just became fighting the controls instead of trying to actually achieve the goal. It was so irritating, I instantly deleted it.

Ug that looked annoying.  Controls really do make or break a game for me and having the sheep ignore your UFO... 

Yea if I tried to play this game i bet something in my house would get broken out of frustration.

Looks fine, but $15, no way....$5 or less is fine!

Well i'd honestly have to try it myself before i actually say "it's imprecise"

I got frustrated watching Jeff having to go back on himself, but again, i ain't played it. If it was me i'd back up just a little instead of going over them, but i have no idea if that's because of inertia.

$15? Why? Because of the map editor? That's just ridiculous.
Plus, I'd get frustrated with this game after 5 or 10 minutes of play, so yeah, pass.

I finished FLOCK! a few days ago. It's pretty good but it's way too redundant. There are 55 levels and after the first 5 to 10 levels you've basically seen it all. I didn't have as much of an issue with the controls as Jeff did, but they're certainly imprecise and the animals do get hung up on things quite often.

I was hoping for an experience closer to the game Sheep but it just wasn't it. If FLOCK looks interesting to you I highly suggest checking out Sheep first. It has sheep with jet packs.

I remember Flicky Jeff, in fact I played it a couple days ago.  I'd never heard about it until seeing it on an episode of Game Center CX.

It's like if the Sonic 3D blast developers saw the cattle minigame at the beginning of Zelda: Twilight Princess and said "EUREKA!"

The level editor looks fun, the game itself looks kind of stress-inducing, and I tend to yell at games.

I think the reason you kept loosing some and flying over them was because you went too fast, try slowing the UFO down a bit.

I played the demo for 10minutes and after that I felt the exact same way Jeff did. The sheep sometimes bolt from you right away, and other times they just slow down and sit under your UFO. I was really excited for it when I saw videos, but after playing the demo this game is a bust.

i agree with jeff, the game is boring and overall frustrating. the controls suck. the level editor seems to be the only redeeming value, but as was mentioned in the video, the level editor does no good if the base gameplay sucks.

I played the demo through qore a few months back and the impreciseness in a puzzle game unsold me immediately. I suppose demos aren't always beneficial.

It isn't easy not to fly over the animals as you might think.

Doesn't look *bad*. Definitely think it would be better suited on PC with a mouse.

I was thinking about downloading this, but it looks extremely frustrating.  Usually when games have mini games involving herding (Twilight Princess is a good example), that's my least favorite part of the game.  I'll check out the trial.

Ok I was actually a fan of Flicky (the game they made reference to in the beginning of the video)- it's frustrating, but in a good way, since it had an excellent Arcade type feel to the gameplay (see how many birds you can round up at once to get a combo multiplier going).


FLOCK however, just seems a bit too dull and tedious, which is a total shame because I'm loving the art direction and the odd soundtrack. Plus isn't Blanka in it for some reason or another?

Maybe if there's a huge marketplace/ PSN sale, then i'll bite.

Level editor looks neat and I love the graphical charm of the game. Yet I can't stand games without precise controls. I'll have to pass on this, definitely not worth the hefty $15

I actually like games like this and think I would have some fun in it but damn Capcom for that greedy $15 price tag, right now I just have to pass on it, if it comes down I'll consider it.

HAH i completely forgot about Flicky; i loved that back in the day.

Looks okay, but not gonna start paying to download games off of PSN anytime soon to kill a few minutes; ill go play Metal Slug on my PC for that.

This game looks okay to me. But I don't think it's worth 15 bones.  Games like this you can find on the internet for free in Flash form.

not sure its got any merit for someone who likes tough puzzles
