Is there any consensus about the exact date that the original Friday the 13th is set on? Because I was born on a Friday the 13th, and I think it's very possible I was born on the same date on which that movie is set.

So this game wasn't released on a Friday 13th?

Man, shame this game was rushed out. It seems like a neat idea but clearly it needed much more time to fix all these issues.

I agree completely, this is the first game in quite a while that I bought at release and felt pretty regretful of that choice. On xbox one i've had nothing but problems. Matchmaking issues, lag, and disconnects. I've given up for now and may try again later. Game feels more like early access or beta. I hope these issues can be fixed because i think there's a fun game beneath all these problems.

I have friends who are loving this game. It seems quite unpolished in certain areas and buggy but people still love what's here. Maybe it should have been early access?

I really wish they would get a few of the crew together and do a pale date this game is fun to watch. I've had it in my cart about 20 ti,es but just can't justify the purchase

Yes this game has problems, but when it works it is amazing. I just love it. I have never had a multiplayer experience with strangers like this. Normally I never use a mic, but I actually dug a set of headphones out of a old cell phone box so I could communicate with other people. It is also really great when someone gets into being Jason and taunts/insults you as they chase you. I am not even really a fan of horror movies either. It does seem to be getting better. You might want to give it a chance when it goes on sale. I wouldn't forget about this game. When it works it is special. (Yes I know I used a qualifier.)

Even though it's a new release I feel like I've seen this game played to death especially on YouTube.

I don't even like these movies and I've found myself thinking about this game a lot. I like playing it even though it is objectively bad. Playing as Jason is really fun and when you get a good cooperative group playing as a counselor can be exhilarating. But the game is so rough around the edges and so full of jank that it's hard to recommend at the full $40 asking price. There's good stuff here and I think it's better than Dead by Daylight.

They need to do a few games with GBEast and west, also Ben was sprinting around pinging like a mofo with the lowest stealth stat in the game, I was sad.

The camera seems way too close to the character, or is that intentional?

Everything I've seen of this game, including this quicklook, makes it seem like the devs were so focused on making this accurate to the movies that they forgot to make it a good videogame. Like, I played the beta back in December and this looks like it's still the janky mess it was back then. Honestly, as far as the subgenre of 1vx slasher movie games go, Last Year might be the only hope after both this and Dead by Daylight fell flat on their faces.

The best slasher movie styled game remains Lakeview Cabin Collection. Actually, I'd love it if Jason had his very own playdate with that game sometime. The quicklook way back when was hilarious.

The concept of this game is great, asymmetric multiplayer ideas like this are very interesting, but it just seems like this game is way too unpolished for its own good.

I can deal with some amount of jank like in Battlegrounds, as it typically won't hinder your ability to perform an action in the game, but I've seen multiple streams of this Friday the 13th game where people will just accidentally open and close windows / doors because the prompts are so bad and you have to stand in weird spots for things to function properly.

I can see it turning out to be a fun but not necessarily lasting multiplayer game once they correct those issues.

I think the mathematical expression for this game is: Ambition > Ability.

The jank in this game can sometimes be pretty great. Ruins the atmosphere though. It sounds like something like this happened with the last game they played, only Jason went flying into the sky instead of the car.

Guess I'll stick to Dead by Daylight a while longer.

Finally, a Battlegrounds killer!

This game is very buggy, but this QL is rife with them in a way I haven't seen in my hours of playing. I've seen the Jason flying off the map thing, but that has only happened once for me.

Just had to make some corrections: The "Ki-ki-ki ma-ma-ma" doesn't mean Jason is nearby. It means he just unlocked another power. There's also some false alarm music that sounds similar to the actual "Jason is coming" music, but you learn to distinguish them after a few rounds.

The Firey Jason isn't from FvJ (I'm surprised at you, Alex and Jason! haha), that's "Savini Jason", an original design from Tom Savini. EDIT: Oop, they remembered.

Jason has more than melee and grab, he also has throwing knives and bear traps.

They had some uncommonly bad luck with these matches. Yeah, the game has issues, but this makes it look WAY worse than it actually is.

Edit: Oh, and I noticed that this was recorded yesterday (the double XP and 13,000+ CP that Ben had), when the servers were getting slammed by everyone taking part in the event. That certainly explains the first match disconnecting.

Yeah, Jason is clearly one of the best names. Shame about all the technical issues. I really respect online multiplayer games that have taken chances with this asymmetric formula. Thanks so much for having me at summer Quick Look camp.

I was really looking forward to this game. The bugs and server issues are heartbreaking.

This game is a lot of fun a it is, the Quick Look isn't really reflective of what I've been playing. Yeah it is a little janky, but with a few fixes and some content, in a few months I think it will turn into a very solid game.

Okay, but why the hell would they put separate "Enter Closet" and "Exit Closet" keys in the game? That sounds like horribly clunky UI design, especially when practically every other action uses the generic "Interact" key.

It was a glitch. Note that Jason couldn't kill him after getting stunned during the animation (I've seen that happen myself, and sure enough, the person hiding ended up trapped)

It's a real shame too cause they could have waited until October of this year as Friday the 13th lands on it. Perfect marketing opportunity and enough time to fix major issues and tweak it.

You should have to complete acts of debauchery before escaping! That would be hilarious, go do drugs while avoiding jason and then call the police.

This game is so busted, but I really enjoy it. I'd love it if they fix the jank and inject more content.

I don't even like Friday the 13th or a lot of horror in general. And I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer games like this, but there's something about this game that I dig.

Needs to cut to a CONNECTION ERROR screen.
