Ahhh, new home page and it kinda blows.

Huh, love the new homepage, but I guess these got pushed out earlier than they were meant to.

What the hell is going on? Two new QLs that dont work and a new look for the site?

Just me or does the XBLA version have a bad frame-rate. 
 
Yeah, this game is pretty bad. Bejeweled Twist is epic fail, but then this takes it to another level by making you not even have to look at the gem screen. It's basically a practice in tediousness and repetition. 

I love how Jeff's Persona 4 reference went right over Ryan's head. 
 
Also, this does not look like a good game.

First miss from Popcap, looks like. I'll be honest, I own Puzzle Quest but I still never got why it was so hugely appealing.

looked decent, not my sort of game but it looks like a good example of it's sort.

I think Ryan is kinda confusing quicklooks with reviews.

Considering i even hate the idea of Puzzle Quest, i find it extremely confusing why i find this game interesting

Yeah, the demo did NOT make me want this game. Oh well.

Don't think this quick look really does the game justice. I've been playing it for four days now, and loving every minute of it. Of course, I take my time with puzzle games, and this one is paced somewhat slower than some people are used to. 
 
EDIT: Oh, and it's probably better to play this on PC, a 360 controller is somewhat unwieldy for this.

Using these monsters as if they were Pokemans.

Cool quick look, but this game doesn't interest me to much.

Looks pretty fun but the idea of micro transactions in a puzzle game is a game breaker.

I've got it on pc. Quite an engaging game that can get really hard at some points.

 I couldn't find any info that this game has microtransactions.
 
Also later on, when you get to world 2 in the game it does start penalizing you for taking "idle twists". What happens is that the other monster's attack gems on the screen will count down faster if you do that.
 
I do wish that they showed some of the story stuff though, because the translation for this game is god awful. It seems like they just put the script through a babble fish translator and called it a day.

Trying the demo for this game, I am not enjoying it. Puzzle Quest was entertaining with each turn you tried to deal damage to your foe so you had epic fights where as Gyromancer has you match blocks. You can't select your own special abilities at will. You match colors. I suppose Gyromancer allows you to set up combos since you are in complete control of the board but it leads to what Jeff did. Looking at your spell bar and matching the gems that lead to scoring more power or attacks.  The Power Affinity that each creature has has a little bit of Pokemon "Electric beats Water" strategy so you do try to pick the stronger monster in your inventory. Really, this should have been a Pokemon game, would probably be far more entertaining. I was not interested with the story at all.
 
For the price they are asking, 1200 points I believe it was, I'm not purchasing it. I already have Puzzle Quest and it does a damn fine job. Listen to Jeff and Ryan, they never sounded excited at all.

I agree with Jeff that this is probably a better game to play than to watch.

Jeff doesnt know what purple looks like! It must be so sad to be colour blind.

I like the new home page, because those sliders would never load up properly...
there always seemed to be one or two that remained blank.
Looks pretty slick now... almost like a real game site.  lol
 
As for the game... I was tempted to buy it, but will probably wait until
there is a point where nothing is coming out...

Tried the demo and it's not good... at all.

Combat stuff didn't look too bad, but the like "map" navigation stuff looked really chinsey. Likin' the new layout. Thanks guys.

 This is not a "match 3" game.  As you progress in the game, using the powers bars to "match 3" every turn will lead to harsh penalties.  Players are intended to set up large combos on the game board before matching anything, which is possible here since the opponent does not touch anything.  This requires players to think two, three, even four moves ahead, visualizing gem placement.  It's quite challenging, and equally satisfying when you set up a significant combo.

Game looks a little bland, like many of Square-Enix's games lately. (Millions of Final Fantasy fanboys attack).

I've always wanted to see how this RPG/Puzzle game worked. I'm kind of interested but I like RPG's a LOT more than puzzle games. Have any of you guys/gals played this type of game?

That was a good zinger to open it up with.

Makes me want to play puzzle age, I mean dragon quest.

Love the Persona 4 reference. Flew right past Ryan. Game looks fun. I could see it getting frustratingly hard later on though.

Gameplay disappointed me.  Jeff's tone fits my feeling about the game perfectly.
