Ok. It's not often I lose it watching a quick look but, damn it!

For anyone playing this like Patrick, remember this: You press the middle mouse button to lock onto guys! Makes it so much easier to clean out rooms or shoot guys with precision.

Also: never not be holding down shift.

The release trailer looked like a wantonly grotesque, civilian-killing twin stick shooter.

That was a poorly illustrative trailer.

I'm getting a Jeff-style reaction right now where everyone talking about Hotline Miami and how awesome it is is making me less interested in the game. It is completely irrational and really stupid, but the massive positive buzz this game has been getting over the last few days makes me want to play it less. This doesn't normally happen to me, I don't really know what the deal is.

I won't let it stop me giving it a try when it goes on sale at some point, though, and I'll definitely try to keep an open mind about it.

For those of you who bought the game, the soundtrack is in the install folder in .ogg format, if you want to listen to it.

I would love to see this game as a Jason Statham movie. With that music and him dying over and over again until he gets it right.

The best way to get high scores in this game is the SMB approach: know your level well, then blaze through it like the Juggernaut (barehanded).

Looks fun, great music. Reminds me a ton of some freeware 2D Japanese game made by (I think) one guy. You could bust through walls with grenades, vault/shoot through windows and whatnot. Some missions involved you murdering everyone, some were about flipping switches or saving hostages. Can't recall the name, but I'd love to play that again if someone knows which game I'm talking about.

Groovy soundtrack. I almost wish Max Payne 3 would've had similiar music in all of it's levels, even if the game didn't take place during the 80's...but that cruiser level was just so goddamn amazing with it's music!

Game seems like a fun shooter as well!

I thought Max Payne's soundtrack was absolutely fantastic in its own right. The airport shootout again shows no one knows how to use music quite like Rockstar. My favorite was also the start of the raid on the boat though if that's what you mean. Had a really eerie vibe.

Your mindset seems completely backwards and very hipster-y. "Everyone's saying the game is awesome? Oh well I guess that means the game sucks"

Oh yes, it was great overall, especially that airtport bit and the boat one. But this soundtrack...I'm not really even paying any attention to what's happening in the game, just listening to that music floooooow....

haha yeah I know what you mean. Definitely gives the game this strange drug fueled, fever dream vibe even more.

The gameplay trailer of this made it seem like a mindless dualstick shooter or something. It is far more than that and now I'm really interested.
