Nice to see it in action. The Nemesis system is definitely what got me interested, and seeing the movement and combat work like a hybrid of Assassin's Creed and Batman reassures me that the gameplay will be a blast. Sold!

I want to like this game but ugh, it just feels like it has nothing unique going for it except maybe one or two mechanics. The rest are just borrowed straight out of other games, which is fine as long as it works with the game in question. It just feels uninspired to me.

I was honestly expecting this game to be fairly average but I'm sold, if Persona 4 Ultimax and Smash weren't out this week I'd buy it right now instead of waiting until my next paycheck. Really excited to pick it up!

Very generic, mechanic-plagiarising, gore-porn. Seems like it's been designed by consortium, and the boardroom's opinions have been aggregated to the nth degree, such is the absence of any resounding Lord of the Rings-ness. A wasted license, however it does look pretty (although, it should do), and seems effortlessly smooth mechanically. Still waiting for my next-gen 'wow' moment! I'm more likely to pick up the Assassin's Creed collection for its deeper narrative, despite AC being thoroughly outclassed in terms of traversal and combat dynamics.

I hope this does well, although I'm sceptical (perhaps wrongfully). Its 'mass appeal' design (clearly looking to attract--not exclude--players nonplussed by everything LotRs) and derivative design choices have perhaps robbed it of some distinctiveness and Tolkien-ish idiosyncrasies that could have set it apart.

I Really enjoyed the 1 1/2 hours I played before retiring for the night. The most unique thing that happened was a random orc killed me after I killed a captain and that random orc filled the spot of the dead captain. Pretty unique enemy system.

Not sure about you guys, but this doesn't look like a game that would require 6GB of VRAM at max settings to me.

I'm not saying it looks bad by any means, just nowhere close to buy-a-new-graphics-card nice.

I wouldn't be interested in a new Assassin's Creed game with the mechanics I'm seeing here and I'm barely interested in this. The nemesis system seems interesting but it doesn't look like it would be enough for me to buy it.

Maybe it shines when actually played, that's at least the impression I'm getting here.

EDIT: Of course he didn't say that. I watched Django Unchained and consumed some alcohol when I made this comment. Listening to it this morning I totally realize it could be any number of things. Fucker, ogre, orc, etc. He just got cut off is all.

Wauw that's kind of a cynical look at it. This genre has basically not moved since Assassins Creed II, highly plagued by Ubisoft pretty much having exclusivity on these kinds of games and making the same shit sandwich over and over again (between Far Cry 3, AC and Watch Dogs, they seem to be experts in making open world games that are completely static in nature). This actually seems to challenge that. It looks dynamic which is the key problem with all of the AC games. Unity promises to fix that, but I still have my doubts, and now that there is an alternative on the market, I'm not sure I care anymore. Also talking about 'gore'-porn (which is not a real word, please stop using it unless your talking about something actually disturbing like Salo) and then in the same breath mentioning how you prefer AC over this, when AC's violence is EXTREMELY exploitative and always have been, is kinda weird.

Can't wait for the sequel, Light of Gondor. I couldn't care less for Mordor and orcs so I feel I'll have to "tolerate" those aspects while playing the game.

I think this is going to be what pushes me over the edge for getting a PS4, it looks pretty amazing.

I am interested in seeing the 360/ps3 version, just to find out what it is like without all the amazing stuff.

I don't think I'll play this. The gameplay looks fine but the world looks so damn boring.

I've always hated how light-hearted most Lord of the Rings stuff is, but this game is fucking metal. Also, when's the last time we've seen a triple A game actually attempt to innovate?

All their complaints about the AC games were problems they addressed a couple of years ago. It kinda bugged me considering it seemed like neither had played the series recently and were basically talking out of their asses about it.

The game does look cool though. I'll probably check this out when I have money. It looks a lot like AC and Arkham but I haven't gotten board of those experiences yet so I'm looking forward to this.
