Just beat this game after 12 hours. The last boss is not good, and there are too many instant kills in the stages, but I did have an okay time with it. It's not great, but it's competent.

The biggest mistake they made making this game was giving him a nose. Everything falls apart when anime gets noses.

That 20XX game is pretty good!

This honestly doesn't look that bad. It just looks mediocre. I've heard what Brad said from a lot of people - it's not a trainwreck and it's not great. Not nearly the gaming travesty that some people seem to be making it out to be.

Those pizza explosions, however...

So, Brad can't get past a fairly standard 2D platforming segment, and it's the games fault now for sucking?

You die in Dark Souls 3 and "it's totally your fault, their are no cheap deaths!" You literally jump into a fireball in this game and it's the games fault and it's shitty.

Damn this game is ugly. In every possible aspect. It looks like a bad Russian knock off, like the Motor Rock of Mega Man games.
Edit: That would be giving it too much praise, they sure as hell didn't copy any good aspect of old Mega Man.

Brad, you are really bad at this. Also, Mega Man 1 and 2 were FILLED will bullshit bosses that didn't have real patterns and even when they did it didn't mean that wouldn't just keep jumping into you over and over again. Don't even get started on the Wily stages or taking like 1/3rd your life from touching a boss. People look at Mega Man 2 with rose colored glasses, those games were super unbalanced difficulty wise and full of bullshit. Go back and play them. Beat the Yellow Devil without abusing the Elecman pause trick. I finished 1-3 in the past 2 weeks. They were great for their time but they didn't age well at all. You can appreciate them for what they are, enjoy the nostalgia. But everything about this game looks right in line with the original games save for having a slightly more drab color pallette.

Good thing I'm watching this Quick Look on prom night. Makes me feel a lot better.

This game doesn't seem to have any more or less bull shit than any of the other Mega Man games, but it also ignores 20+ years of platformer design.

For every interesting idea this game has, it has a bunch of questionable ones.

this looks super boring

This is a proper response. Early Megaman games are looked upon with nostalgia, but the design of those games doesn't hold for modern gameplay. There were a lot of level design traps like not being able to see spikes offscreen and bosses moving around so much just so that the player would be damaged by toughing them. It was cheap design then, but that's all they had. Modern games have fewer restrictions and should be much better designed. People wanted more of original Megaman and that's what they got with MN9.

I feel like despite what he says, Brad actually does like this game. Not super enthusiastic 5/5 brad, but surely at least 3/5 "eh, it's alright" Brad.

That disheartened "oh..." from Dan after Brad says the game might not even be good is probably the biggest bummer in this whole video. :(

There's a lot of sparkly noises coming out of this game.

@mechanized: MM2 has bullshit but it's still fun to play, has cool design & great music. This is just dull, nothing coming close to Wood Man quality here.

The art style reminds me of that Megaman clone, Explodemon.

It's a shame the game doesn't look as good as Explodemon was.

This game plays perfectly fine... I feel like that's all that really matters. It's not amazing, but it's not trash either.

About KS/crowdfunded games. Most of the games that were crowdfunded that I've played have been pretty good. Mediocre/bad KS completed games seems pretty rare to be honest.

Can't disagree with this more. I go back and play megaman 2 at least once a year. That game was freakin awesome, probably my favorite NES game of all time (minus quick man's stage).

Brad better bring Mega Man 2 on for UPF and take Air Man out with the pea shooter.

Honestly, doesn't look terrible. Think I might give it a go.

That was a rough ride, and not of the ruff ryders variety.

I have a feeling making a "perfectly fine" game wasn't the stated Kickstarter goal.
