Quick Look: Monster Tale

Looks cool. Hope it doesn't pull a Hatsworth and quickly become insanely hard.

Grrr. More games I should buy but can't at the moment.

Henry Hatsworth was amazing. Dreamrift is an unbelievably underrated studio. Monster Tale will be triple A, no doubt about it. But the Quick Look was awesome anyway; there hasn't been nearly enough buzz on this title since it was announced. What a mistake, game journalism industry - it looks fantastic. Thx, Giant Bomb crew! ;)

Maybe. Only maybe because I am focusing on a 3DS at the moment, so we're playing the "let's not spend" game.

I still don't understand what the story, characters or gameplay are all about, but I'm really digging the music - worth buying it just for that.

Disappointed by the generic anime stylings, especially considering this is from most of the guys who brought you Henry Hatsworth, but  otherwise I am totally on board.

I might end up getting this. It looks pretty awesome.

This game looks pretty great! "People behind Henry Hatsworth" is a great sell, and the Metroidvania nature of it looks great. And surprisingly deep.  
 
Too bad there's no equivalent to Tea Time from Hatsworth.

Did Vinny reference Megadeth? Awesome.

At first I thought "Monster Tale"? Sounds lame.
 
And then I watched the quick look and changed my mind. This game seems pretty cool now.

Aww man, I wanna get Vinny's lullaby singing on a loop and listen to it every night when I go to sleep.

Vinny quietly singing in the background in the beginning was magical.  Made me feel as if I was in an episode of Vinny's Corner.

I was worried when I a saw the Majesco logo, but I am pleasantly surprised.

This game looks like it could be right up my alley. I really want to play it now.

I really like the look of this. Just a shame I don't have a DS at the moment. Once I get one I should look into this.

Is this game out already? I pre-ordered it on amazon, but I coulda sworn they said it was out in the quick look, amazon doesn't have an option for release date delivery on this one either. Maybe I'm just crazy, looking forward to when I get it, this seems perfect for my half hour DS sessions before falling asleep.

Music while battling the dragon was awesome!!

I love listening to Brad's surprise and excitement while watching this video.  A great team-up of Brad and Vinny.  The game looks like a lot of fun, too.  I might rent it sometime in the future since I usually only buy JRPGs for my DS.

Looks good but man that picture is too damn creepy.

Game looks awesome. Probably wouldn't have even picked it up to look at the back if I saw it on a shelf at a store though.
 
All metroidvania games should have "METROIDVANIA!" in big text on the front so people obsessed with them like me will notice.

It must be a joy to watch these as a developer.

Looks pretty interesting.. though the western anime style is really putting me off.  Why can't developers find some better art talent out there for at least character designs?

I glad I watched this Quick Look. I think I have just been sold on Monster Tale. Castlevania disappointed me this year since they skipped the 2 year portable DS cycle, and now Monster Tale might make up for it.
 
I know its a game mostly aimed at a younger audience, but as long as there is a decent challenge I think I'll be happy.
