The Switch has a capacitive touch screen, right? I would totally consider getting a capacitive touch stylus for this game or other puzzle games if they had touch controls.

@warpr: Jupiter made EIGHT Picross games available on the 3DS. They also made the Game Boy game, Mario's Picross, available on the Virtual Console. It was my first when I got it for free from Club Nintendo. I continued to devour everything with the Picross name ever since.

Dan, you should be able to deduce through logic you wouldn't be able to escape from prison.

I was 100 percent getting this for a time then I just lost it. Puzzle games are the worst for showing off if you lose the thinking that's it.

This does look very cool though, I just got myself a 3ds xl so will try 3d picross until I can get my hands on a switch! great stuff

@lumbermancer: He can logically deduce their patrol routes, though.

I LOVE Picross but was off on how they said the word and it was painful to watch them struggle with that last puzzle.

Picross 3D is so much better than these 2D games. I bet it also requires a lot more work to make.

I love Dan's Nintendo-puzzle-game quick looks. He's great at talking through his moves and thought process - and his love of the games really shines through

Am I the only one that was doing the standard watch in frustration wanting to tell them things to do? :)

@danryckert Some tips for mega, you need to look at what you can eliminate sometimes in a similar way to what you would do for normal. For example in the puzzle in the quick look you had a 2 mega on top followed by a 4 normal on the right side on bottom. This means that the bottom 5 left can't be filled in because the right side normal four has to come first and the mega can't touch the four. Hope that helps and isn't too convoluted. You'll start to learn those sorts of tricks like in normal and it ends up being not that much more difficult. Also the mega has to have at least one in each column so a two is one in each column.

Things like the 9 sometimes you'll have a choke point like you ended up with at one point you had 6 on bottom empty, then a row with one that can't be filled in and one that can, then you had 4 empty above that. So the one next to the one that couldn't be filled in is and the two above and below it have to be. That probably isn't as clear without a picture, but if you pause at 14:31 and count like you were with the 7 in the first puzzle it might make sense.

The only Nintendo Picross game I've ever had to do the guess and see where it leads was Picross DS where they had 25x20 puzzles, like Dan I always play for no mistakes and in that game to finish in under an hour (Also big logic puzzle fan, probably why I ended up writing software for a living). Some of those were rough, but they built in a specific means of trying things out because you had to. Besides some of the 3D puzzles none of the Picross games have been as hard since that one. Ok that's enough Picross nerding out. Btw for anyone who likes these kind of games Piczle Lines DX for the Switch scratched the same kind of itch for me. It's a little more trial and error sometimes, but mostly logic and you fall into the same kind of zen filling in the picture solving the puzzle.
