It's always weird hearing the giantbomb guys talk about movies, because you just kinda assume that all geeks are the same. But when you hear a good movie podcast like the /filmcast or the untitled movie cast here, the bombcast guys are just not playing on the same level when it comes to staying up on movies and vice versa.

(the only exception i can think of was Ryan (Always gonna miss that dude))

@sixpin: I have to disagree with you and agree with Brad because District 9 is fantastic. I went to the theatre having no expectations and was blown away. One of the best original sci-fi films I've ever seen.

The company that made this calls themselves 'Old School Games' and makes the worst kind of modern game imaginable? I'm actually insulted that they call themselves that. This is garbage.

Never let Vinny play a 30+ minute quick look with super high mouse sensitivity ever again. Because oh my that was getting into headache territory there. Loved the QL but I couldn't physically concentrate at it for very long.

Found a comic book that was basically just a series of two page teasers for other comic books. Except all of them read like crass movie pitches rather than actually plotted stories. On the last pages...Oblivion. More than the sterile soulessness of the trailers, that kept me away from that film.

How is "Ghost Problems" not a concept on the wiki?

Turns out I was right. More right than I could have anticipated.

EDIT: Seriously, though, if any of you are looking for a third-person horde mode with objectives and haven't played Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, that game is still fantastic. It handles incredibly well, and they've added a wealth of new content for free since release (more than doubled the number of player classes, plus a bunch of new maps and some tougher enemies). I started playing it this year and have put in 160+ hours so far. I highly recommend it.

That aside, dissapointed by this. Was hoping for the usual movie-tie-in garbage, with bad design, bad cut-scenes and actros, who kinda sound like Jeff Bridges and Ryan Renolds.

The beginning of this video is everything that makes GB better than the rest of the net.

The game is just as bad as they claim the movie is.

Yeah, it was definitely a rushed game, but the combat was incredibly satisfying, in a way that only Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine could also reach, the Easter Eggs were nothing if not charming and it actually gave the movie a better name because of it. It was one of the few games that were far superior to its movie counter-part and came out nearly at the same time.

I know this is off topic, but would love to see you guys do a quick look of The Last of Us Multi player.

yeah, i personally found this unwatchable. had to stop after about 3 minutes of gameplay. Bummer, i wanted to laugh along with them!

Yeah, this game feels and plays a bit like God Mode but God Mode had heart. It also wasn't just a shitty horde mode, it had actual levels you blasted through. Yeah, bit of a God Mode apologist.

This game is just too boring to watch. I'm sorry.

Yeah, i feel like they have done what Brad mentioned (reskin or generally appropriate an existing game with a movie license on top of it) plenty of times back in the day, but I could be mistaken.

The Universal Soldier game was a reskin of Super Turrican, I know that one for sure.

But I've heard a lot of stories going the other way, where Japanese licences games had their licenced properties reskinned out of the game, along with some whitewashing for good measure, and sold in the west as original IPs. This was really, really common in the NES and SMS era.

This isn't like Hades at all, really.
