Quick Look: Rise of Nightmares

I love that Ryan has to act like a dude in a video game to walk.

The Nemesis seemed kind of daft punky...

The part when Jack Layton comes in and saves the dude from the crazy tongued nurse was pretty great.

The funny thing with these Kinect quicklooks is that despite them looking crappy and insults being thrown throughout, they always seem to be having fun - whether it was intentional or not. 

Yet another game that's made for Kinect yet does nothing that couldn't have already been done with a controller. Sad thing is that this will sell just because there are so few Kinect games and people that bought an Xbox just for it are starved for games and will buy anything.

Man, this is barely a game.

Holy hell those navigation controls look incredibly frustrating, stabbing on the other hand looks pretty fun.

I dislike how this game looks. Very slow and plodding.

This game looks bad but punching zombies seems oddly therapeutic.

So is this a prequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution? The dark origins of mechanical augmentation?

I reckon in 5 years time when the kinect tech has been upgraded/mastered and we are on the next gen consoles this sort of game has potential, but currently it is too blunt and clumsy to be anything other than an amusing novelty.

Kinect, making you look like you're giving double handjobs since 2010.

Seriously though, the best part about this game is that its a zombie punching simulator.

Also, endurance run please? I would love to see somebody go through this entire drunk guy with a neckbrace zombie punching simulator. Preferable Patrick.

These are the best kind of games for Quick Looks - the kind where you would never pay to play them, but you want to see other people play them.

Patrick Klepek looks like a charicature or a cartoon character to me already with his skinniness and somewhat long arms...this only enhances the illusion.

This looks extremely ambitious for a Kinect game. Its really on a whole other ambitionlevel than anything else Kinectrelated I've seen so far. That fact alone intrigues me. Theres something about going through a first person horror game and actually acting it all out in the room that kinda makes me want to play this, alot, even tho I know it won't be a quality product.

And here is yet another perfect example of why Kinect's technology does not make video games better. I would rather lick a Pig's ballsack than play a game like this

This game looks fun! Taking time to learn the controls will eliminate any progression problems. I know I talked some mess about zombie games in the Resistance 3 Quick Look, but at least this game tries something different and interesting with the controls. The scene with the German dude getting his hand chopped off was well done in regards to the up-beat villain nonchalantly committing acts of inhuman horror and the giant guillotine killing that old guy totally took me by surprise; nice!

The weapon system is a downer though and the game's inspirations shine clearly through.

But I still like it.

I love how when most people get on-camera they get nervous. Patrick just gets stoked.

There are some parts of this game that look genuinely awesome. The fact that it's hyper violent and self-serious is actually kind of cool.

@monkeynuts8: hi5 on the Breakdown love. Such a criminally underrated game & Rise of Nightmares looks interesting as hell.
