Good to see Giant Bomb taking a look at the rich cultural history of my country.

Seems like a not very good game made to represent an amazing sport.

I did learn from this however (thanks Danny!) that there are two types of rugby... not sure which I played in high school. I think it was rugby union.

That was great! I know nothing about Rugby but I loved Dan's enthusiasm and Danny's commentary.

I don't understand anything about this sport, but it seems alright. I'd like to see a better video game about it.

@frakturfreak: Not sure. All I recall is it was played in the USA and it might have been qualifying matches. I just had it on in the background after the hockey games were done on that channel.

What a relief, I didn't learn anything about rugby.

@benmo316: Pretty sure it was the las vegas sevens.

Rugby Sevens is Rugby Union on speed, 7 players per team 7 minute halfs.

It will be the olympic variant of rugby, because you can play a tournament in one weekend.

The sevens in club games usually are fun games in the summer.

But World Rugby did create a world series for the national teams so the best nations travel round the world and play tournaments each weekend.

That actually turned into a great match at the end.

Also, Danny should show them a clip of real life Rugby so that they can see how it actually plays.

Every time I hear Dan use the word "real" it makes me cringe, he is just so fucking condescending...

There have been a few decent rugby games out there but sadly this one is dreadful!

I fell down a rugby hole briefly some years ago. They would show games at weird times on ESPN2 or maybe sometimes even ESPN proper. Then I got one of the EA Rugby games on PS2 and played the shit out of it. This game however does not look like the thing that will bring me back in.

@frakturfreak: Sounds interesting. I wonder if that will be helpful in making the USA audience enjoy it? We have short attention spans so shorter games might help.

@benmo316: The USA actually play in this and are quiet good. Check out the name Carlin Isles, has to work on his defence, but damn he is quick.

But to be honest, the full blown international game is more important and interesting, and noone really cares about the sevens and the countries that are good at sevens don’t usually feature much in the real game.

It lacks all the interesting bits of forward play.

However as an introduction drug it’s pretty nice.

I like how quickly Danny schooled Dan about learning about foreign countries

"YES! RUGBY!" Extremely entertaining quicklook. Guest quicklooks are the best and Danny delivers as always. The ending of the game was so perfectly epic that it almost seemed scripted.

I either missed the first 14 games or this QL is a year late.

I would love GB to play an AFL game of some kind. It would just blow their minds.

I'm disappointed they got through the entire QL without mentioning front row hookers.

I was so excited when Jeff picked NZ, until I realised it didn't have the ABs license :(

You do realise that the vast majority of people in the world are not Americans, do not speak American English (or any English) and that all things American is not some benchmark of "real" against which all other things are measured, right? You do understand that don't you? Jesus christ.

I sincerely doubt that. He probably doesn't know how many Americans there are or what the world population is, because those are things that don't often come up in Metal Gear, other video games, wrestling or 80s action movies - his only sources of information. He freely admitted that everything he knows about Russia and the former Soviet Union comes from Metal Gear and 80s action movies. Beyond that, he knows the name Vladimir Putin has something to do with Russia. I don't want to be mean but Dan is like a real life manifestation of Idiocracy. Ignorance is not a virtue.
