Quick Look: Saints Row: The Third

Normally I hate the GTA kind of games...but this looks absolutely amazing, I think because it doesn't take itself seriously at all

Something to tide over till GTA5

That 47 minute quick look felt like about 20. I think I want this game, but I also think I would get bored of the combat quick. I generally only like third person shooters if they have cover systems (and maybe this does, but it wasn't shown here...) or if they are Space Marine.

this is going to be GENIUS!

This looks surprisingly fun. Love the "buy everthing" and the art style. Will get this at some point.

I hope the PC version comes out okay.

The PC version is going to be the best of the lot. And that pains me to say it, as I have both consoles to choose from and no gaming PC rig. Don't worry, Volition did it in-house this time rather than farming it out like they did with the shitty SR2 port, so you can dive in on day one and get triple monitor support, built-in video recorder, and all sorts of fancy graphics options.

Yeah, I kind of wish I had a gaming PC at the moment just for this game.

@xobballox: A cover system would be horrible out of place in this game, and I'm glad for it. I don't think I could stomach another cover based shooter game of any kind.

Sure, I'm not saying it's worse for not having one or that it even should have one, I just personally don't generally enjoy non cover-based TPS games.

Surely the greatest honour you can bestow this game is to pirate it.

So this is where the crazy of GTA went and evolved. I've never even seen a single image of Saint's Row before but this has me mildly interested, I'll maybe nab it down the line on a steam sale or something.

Loved the nod towards "Get Bent". Of course Jeff recognizes that voice actor by now.

Hmm, its Quiet Dog. Would have preferred something off BoBS or Black Star, but it's a decent track nonetheless.

Also like that they're rockin' purple in the menus as the "games color", ala P4 and yellow. Stands out in a crowd of other titles' menus.

Still craazy. Might play it, if the PC version is alright that is. If it's like Saints Row 2 then I'll pass.

They use Android for in game phones? Now that's gansta. (!)

The game looks mad fun, but, what did they do to Shaundi? That isn't the Shaundi I remember.

I wish this came out before Skyrim. I'm going to have to pull myself away from Skyrim to play this. But hey, too many great games is never a bad thing.

The difference between Saints Row and GTA IV is that Saints Row is a silly, fun, sandbox game. GTA:IV is a Crime/Gangster Epic.

This was Excruciatingly Painful to sit through - Actually I couldn't.

I really don't want to watch someone fumbling through a game / much less a review.

This video should have only been about 20 minutes long - the rest was so irrelevant and mind-numbing - I almost shot myself.

@spitfireink: It's a Quick Look. Not a review. The Quick Look is basically watching the Giant Bomb staff show off how they play the game and mess around with stuff. Saying you don't want to see them mess around just means you're watching the wrong video.
