Some very cool additions to the first game and looks different enough from Solitairica to still be interesting. Can't wait to play this and get up to more Victorian shenanigans.

I had my eye on this for a little bit. Hopefully it hits my Puzzle Quest itch. Not enough people make games like those.

I have never played solitaire but I bought this game almost purely on the aesthetics and nothing makes me happier than seeing armor appear on my character. I don't remember buying it but that has to be why.

One of the reasons the best jrpg is tales of phantasIA as well.

I really like this game but some of those duels can be pure luck. Getting a good combo early on basically dictates the entire flow of the duel. It feels so annoying since it feels completely out of your control.

This was getting so frustrating for me that I wanted to refund it. Way too much focus on rng, skill has very little to do with it.

Wouldn't it be smarter to use your items when you can't do anything to the board? Especially those 5 turn buff ones.

@bageldrone: Seriously. Can we get a Hand of Fate 2 Re-Quick Look with Vinny and Alex?

I've put a couple of hours in and I like this game a lot. The guys who made it are pretty great. The main dev is called Jake Birkett and he did a great GDC talk a couple of years ago about how to survive as a game developer without ever having a hit.

Vinny seems so confused in the first 10 minutes it is like he has never played solitaire or videogames before.

*shakes fist* You darn millenials, thinking that all the Victorian era consisted of was Masquerade masks, weird tricorne hats with feather boas stuffed in them, corsets and flintlocks. Rabble rabble rabble!

(Seriously, though, I had to laugh at the main character, who looks like she coudn't decide between a "Lone Ranger" and "Buccaneer" costume for Halloween and decided to split the difference. Actual gameplay looks interesting, though!)

@asherrd: Oh, you made me laugh out loud. During the first 10 minutes I was wondering if Alex had woken Vinny up from napping, curled up in a corner like a cat, to record this quick look... "So wait, these are cards? And this is on a computer?"

@dasakamov: I mean, not to sound petty but this is probably not Victorian. Design and setting suggests it's Georgian, so probably 100 years or so pre-victoria

@bugbarbecue: That was partly my point: to most people, the "Victorian Era" means "masquerades and flintlocks". Thrown in some brass and gears and suddenly everything is "Steampunk", to boot. ;)

It's by the people who made the pride and prejudice solitaire game so I'd say it's 100% Georgian. That seems to be their era.

Which is an era more commonly known as the Regency Era, hence the first game being called Regency Solitaire.

The Victorian era in fiction is USUALLY more associated with the first repeating arms like revolvers and early repeating rifles, though towards the beginning of the era you have rifled, percussion muskets and towards the tail end you start getting the wide adoption of bolt-action rifles.
