Glad they did this! I played the demo and then bought the game.. it's pretty great! Not without its' wonkiness, but man it's fun.

I can see where they're coming from not knowing what you're supposed to do in the mine tutorial, it took me a few tries to notice the marker on the stairs too, but really, they pointed the camera a few times at it while figuring it out, come on guys, you could have paid a bit more attention to that.

@antikorper: Yeah it took me a few minutes to realize where I needed to go. Wasn't intuitive at all.

Yes, I was hoping they'd do this. Not really interested in playing it but I'm sure the Bomb Squad will make it at least entertaining to watch.

I've got a pretty raging sniper boner right about now.

I've actually heard a lot of good things about this game. The demo is apparently a lot of fun.
 
Based on the quick look, it appears to have a little bit of jank as well. I would've been stuck on that "place a mine on the body" part too.

Played the demo for this on Steam and liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I'd vouch that the most fun way to play it though is with everything on the highest difficulty setting; at least that's how I enjoyed it most. It doesn't seem like the most hardcore game ever, but it seems to strike a pretty good balance between being accessible and realistic.

Actually that's exactly why they called it Sniper Elite V2. In reference to the V2 rocket menace. Rebellion even said this.

After watching this, this game seems to borrow a lot of things from Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Did the sniper elite dev team kick a GB staffer's dog or something? When it was first mentioned on we love mondays, ryan shit on it and dismissed it immediately and now this quicklook.

Every step of the tutorial section resulted in, "uhhh."

When it was time to make the first shot, "ok who do we shoot?" "The guy with the fedora! (and clearly not the german that was just the focus of a minute long cut scene, and is now blessing the thumbnail of this very video... you know... the guy named as your target!)

A game with realistic bullet physics and shots are spammed like machine gun fire.

Perhaps games shouldn't be covered because users demand it if you can't hide the bile enough to cover it, but hey, awesomenauts! yaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

This game is radically different from what I was expecting.

You seems pretty upset over some really dumb shit guy. Maybe you should start a website and cover all the games you love so you never have to suffer through any GB video ever again.

I'm a bit surprised Jeff looked at this. It kind of has almost everything he doesn't like: World War II, old guns, sniping, stealth, firearm simulation. Seems like more of a Dave/Drew/Vinny game.

The land mine part was just... Ugh. Jesus christ.

It seems like this game is one of those that has a very small fanbase to it & guessing that most of the people at Giantbomb/Gamespot aren't fans of this kind of slower paced FPS game. I enjoy the sniper role sometimes with Battlefield3 but a full game of sniper missions would just wear itself out before the game is done. Glad this game is out though for the fans of the sniper games as there's not been a lot of them lately, it's just not something for me.

@Jeff im thinking V2 stands for V2 rockets , since you are going after those scientists that helped invent them in this game.

from my time with the demo, this game can look a bit better than this, visually. ( might just be the video compression ofc )

but you guys still had some framerate dips.

I suggest "hire" @willsmith to build you guys a proper pc so you can have optimal runthroughs of pc titles in the future.

I enjoyed this.

Man... Some quick looks can sure be frustrating to watch sometimes.

I can't decide if this game is dummmmmmmmmmmmb or just dumb.
 
Also, why would that entire land mine tutorial reset just because you didn't initially walk the direction they wanted you to? That seems really confusing, especially since as they noted, the indicator isn't noted when it's not on screen. I was confused as Jeff and Brad were because it seemed to be trying to convey the mine was placed improperly, which wasn't the case.

This actually looks OK and the multiplayer might be fun even though I don't like sniping.I'll buy it when it's cheaper.

I thought they did a pretty good job at showcasing the game. Jeff made it clear, that he's not into sniping, but they still didn't dismiss it as crap or something.

Not really. It's fun for a few missions while sniping but all the other parts are really crummy, and you have to do way too many of "all the other parts". The X-Ray stuff is also very neat but you have to play with maximum realism on ballistics and eventually you get tired of it too. It's not good and any game that forces you to kill Soviet soldiers in WW II is pretty shitty . Way to be the most disrespectful game to come out for Victory day. "Shoot your grangpa in the balls for the holiday!". Fuck you Rebellion.

It's a quicklook bro, who cares if they didn't hear the one sentence that told them who to shoot. I wasn't sure who they needed to shoot either, I always find it hilarious that everyone always thinks they're so much smart than everyone on the GB crew.
