Wait... do Americans not have sausage rolls, the natural (and equally delicious) companion to the meat pie? I am flabbergasted at Alex's revelation.

@buzz_clik: I initially thought @alex was joking when he said there's no such thing as a sausage roll... Didn't realise they weren't a common thing in the States.

@buzz_clik: I was a little perturbed at that revelation myself. When I was younger this was my favourite food! I guess it's an English thing, though I'm Canadian so whatever.

@buzz_clik: Yeah most Americans have never heard of our traditional meat pies or sausage rolls. It seems crazy that they haven't broken through.

Introducing the American Enforcers who came over for the first PAX Australia to the wonders of savoury pastry treats was a lot of fun. Especially teaching them to use our "futuristic" disposable tomato sauce squirters.

Ugh, this makes me want a sausage roll right now.

I want it mentioned that Stephen refers to Increpare's first name, not necessarily the main character's. Move over Mrs. Mac, Stephen's here with a brand new kind of sausage roll!

Maybe also Fish Fillets. I've spent ages in the game, but I've never gotten close to completing it.

record attempt for how many times they say "sausage" in a single quick look. And can confirm Sausage rolls do in fact exist here in the UK.

On Nantucket, we have Jamaican Meat Patty/Pattie, but I have never had one. There is also a Pasty Shop, but they don't put much fillings so I would be ashamed to bring any friends from Cornwall there.

@buzz_clik: We always made something called pigs in a blanket when I was a kid. Pretty much exactly what you are posting with crescents as the breading. We'd put cheese in them sometimes as well.

What's the difference between a sausage roll and pigs in blankets? After checking Wikipedia I'm kinda confused. In Germany we have "Würstchen im Schlafrock", (sausage in a dressing gown), which seems to be exactly the same thing as the UK sausage rolls (sausage inside puff pastry), yet "sausage roll" has it's own wiki article and it's a different one than "pigs in blankets".

Now I'm hungry AND confused :(

Who's going to post a whole load of sausage rolls to GBeast?

It's funny that they turn to the credits for explanation, as Bennett Foddy (of QWOP fame) is actually credited for the title ("such as it is").

I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in Australia a "Sausage Roll" is seasoned sausage meat (finely ground, fatty mince) in puff pastry, and "Pigs in Blankets" are just actual sausages or frankfurt sausages, wrapped in pastry.

IMO Pigs in Blankets are just a lazy way to make bootleg sausage rolls that aren't very good.

I'm genuinely horrified (about the ignorance of sausage rolls, not the lack of Greggs).

Also, in the UK at least, "pigs in blankets" are usually sausages wrapped in bacon. As others have said, sausage rolls are sausage meat in pastry (with no skin between the meat and the pastry).

From what I can see, Pigs in Blankets are sausages in some kind of bread related covering. (except in the UK where its bacon wrapped). Sausage rolls are however a form of pastry, specifically flaky pastry which is sort of crumbly layered pastry.

I had a pretty great New Zealand style sausage roll from the Dub Pies food truck, but I didn't watch them make it, so maybe this game is accurate.

How do they not know what a sausage roll is!? Even so, the title sounds like a sausage rolling rather than a pastry thing.

Kolaches are some what similar to what you guys have in England but the breading/pastry component is different. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klobasnek This seems to be mostly a Texas thing but might interest some people who aren't familiar with it.

It looks like a fun game but by absolutely no measure does this appear to be worth 30 dollars. It's only slightly less than The Witness, and although it's challenging it looks extremely simply made.

From a puzzle design perspective what I find most interesting is the minimalist nature of the options available to you in any puzzle. It might get more complicated, but the fact that he can get that much puzzle difficulty out of a 12 space grid and a few rules and movement options is crazy.

Though even though this looks great there's no way I'd pay $30 for it, as much as I hate complaining about price for games that obviously have great design-work put into them.

It's super easy, buy some pork sausage and mix it with garlic and onion (and a little cheese). Get sheets of puff pastry and wrap the filling in the pastry, egg wash the top, cut into sections (we normally do bite size sections) and bake until beautiful.
