I'm not so sure about that crossbow being outlawed thing, but this QL is fantastic regardless

This QL makes the game look terrible. I guess it's terrible?

Wartburg: Trouble in the Cumberlands

I love how the "Morning, your Lordship!" shoulds exactly the same as Stronghold 1

I never knew you could knock down stone walls with swords. huh.

I'd love to know why when defending Wartburg, his defensive archers seemed to die within ten seconds, yet when he was the attacker, it was significantly harder to kill the defending archers. Is Drew just issuing the wrong commands, or does the AI have stupidly efficient micro that lets it target things perfectly?

Also, Jesus Christ, people complaining about video quality like it's the fucking end of the world.

To all those watching in 360p (that sucks), but the HD really doesn't do this game any favors. Still looks like a Windows 95 game to me.

@dvorak: I'm really not kidding, in the zoomed out view it reminds me of Lord of the Realms 2 which I totally played on Windows 95. The fact that you can see sharply delineated squares of different tile sets really reminds me of that game, plus the in-game encyclopedia. Up close, maybe Windows ME.

Except that this game is in full 3D, and LOTR2 was all sprite based.

If you like the economic aspect of this game, but want to play a tried and true awesome game, check out Dawn of Discovery Gold on Steam. It's got a lot of that finely balanced economics sim thing going on which can be really enjoyable.

It's called Anno 1404 outside the states, I'm pretty sure.

I'm a huge fan of the first Stronghold, but I've heard this game is riddled with irritating bugs. It pains me to say it, but I'll have to wait for a patch or two before plunking down for this.

Looked awesome except I hope that they fix the staircase snapping thing. I'm also not sure on the real-time stuff, I mean I can see how it's cool but I'd just get really damn impatient!

I sweet, I love this. I had sooooo much fun with Stronghold 1 and Crusader, but skipped over 2, since it was.... something else.

Sackful of diseased badgers sounds like something Will Smith would fight.

Vinny is really up on his Stronghold lore.

The ground is giving me a headache, I assume it's supposed to be shadows but it's so distracting updating every 1-2 fps.

I checked out the quick look because the game's on sale on Steam. Not too impressed, as much as I liked the original Stronghold.

Man I hate RTS foresters that just chop down a whole forest which never grows back. That's not sustainable! What environmental college did you go to?
