Quick Look: Tenchu Shadow Assassins

Sweet, loving these videos.

This game just looks frustrating.

Way to skip that cutscene.

Those sword fights are hilarious.

I don't know about this one.  It looks like it'd be rather good once you figure out the controls.

Tenchu feels more like stealth puzzle than stealth action.

huge fan of the first Tenchu games, and i acutally really really liked Tenchu Z, i know im in the minority.

It's nice to know the first mission is "kill the evil merchant" that's a staple in the Tenchu series.

Brad, perhaps a shuriken to the head would of been better?though i do know that in Tenchu Z (which is very different) you needed a certain skill to get one hit kills with them.

I dont think you can compare this to the original though, seeing as this has entriely different gameplay.

Quick looks are so great because it keeps the site alive. So in February, when there is minimal news, Giantbomb is still worth checking because of all these great videos.

Cool. Thanks for taking a look at the game, guys. I know a lot of folks have moved on from Tenchu's brand of stealth action, but I still love it. This one seems to offer what I'm looking for, and your video was helpful.

I loved the first TENCHU game.

Wow. I was actually intrigued about this game but I am glad I saw it in motion. Looks pretty bad. And that just further explains the greatness of the quick looks.

Becuase i certainly did.

Tenchu 1 and 2 were awesome, and I thought of giving this a go since it was back to the original developer.... hmm, maybe when we clearance it at work since no one will buy it.

The combat in this game is dog shit for every reason they said in the video and more. However, having beaten this game I can say that's really the only major problem with it, well other than it is a stealth game on rails. If they had included a traditional combat system like you had in previous Tenchu games and put the current shitty combat system in as mini game type thing that happened during combat when you locked swords or something it would have been better.

Once you get used to the pacing of the game and how it plays you won't get spotted by enemies as much since you'll know how to move. 

Honestly though, if you like stealth action game play, are sick of the "casual gamer" mini game crap fests that have infested and taken over the Wii, and are primarily a Wii focused gamer I would urge you to pick this up as it's not half bad FOR A Wii GAME! If the Xbox 360, PS3, or PC are your main platforms though then definitely don't get this since for you its the final proof that yes Tenchu is dead.

Lol it looks so bad, laughable in fact. But at least the graphics are nice. 

The first two Tenchu games were good, but the others...not so much.

the sword stuff looks very clunky and there seemed to be lots of phasing through models, but it seems decent enough in terms of stealth.

I'll be passing on Tenchu yet again. The first one on PS1 was awesome. You'd think they'd modernize the series a slight bit.

That's weird, the reviews for this game haven't been too bad.

I think it really depends on what kind of game you're lookin' fer.

The music is AWFUL. Reason enough not to play the game.
