That letter-boxing is annoying just watching. I'm glad people are on the case on PC to unlock a normal aspect ratio, as well as 60fps.

Can anyone recall if boogers have been used as currency in a game before? Now anytime I play, or watch someone play this, I'll always think he's picking up boogers. Thanks, Dan.

This looks just as bad as RE4.

Another game I want to play but with the loss of Blockbuster Videos it means I won't play this til its $20 or...never. Same thing with Alien: Isolation.

This looks like a more serious, not as fun, version of Shadows of the Damned. Also, this game looks kind of...bad.

You'll probably get some hate for this but I agree with you, I have no love for RE4 and this looks just as bad or worse.

Also. who in the bloody hell thought that massive letterboxing was a good idea?

Hmmm. No offense to the rest of the crew, but I'm curious to see what Patrick has to say and ill check out his show later tonight. He's my go to guy for horror.

A little under half-way through the Quick Look now, and I'm excited to see that this looks fun even if you're not into 'horror' games. I'm kind of like Jeff, in that I don't really find any scary games/movies to actually be scary, so I was worried this game might not stand on the merits of atmosphere and solid gameplay alone, but it seems like it does.

My last preorder for now. Far Cry, Civ and Borderlands will have to wait 'til I'm sure I won't have to move back in with my parents due to lack of funds.

Oh god that letterboxing is a massive deal-breaker for me. I'm sure the PC version will have a mod that gets rid of it just like their "cinematic" locked 30fps crap. Also since steam switched to CDN Dollars this has become one of the most expensive games while stuff like the new Civ and even boderlands have retained their $50/$60 pricepoint.

The game play around this might be fantastic, but everything else is so annoying. Can't wait for the next big steam sale.

General question to the more tech savy amoung us:

Would I have to re-enter the commands into the console every time? If I enable console could I just put the aspect ratio and framerate commands into an autoexec and have it work?

About 30 minutes in myself, people that are freaking out about the letter box need to chill, you get used to it pretty quick. So far it's definitely more on the gross out side of horror than general scaryness which is totally fine by me. Pretty early but I'm so far very inticed

Aside from a few nicely atmospheric environmental stuff, this comes of as really clunky and generic. Dan was literally calling out every reference, from Phineas Gage to The Shining.

It all just seems like stuff I've done or seen before, without an interesting enough reason to go through it once again. Which is weird, because atmosphere alone usually goes really far with me.

This actually looks pretty nice design wise, but looks really janky technically. I wonder if this was originally being developed for the last generation consoles.

One minute in, and I knew that game wasn't for me. The zombie thing slow chasing Brad is enough. Nope nope nope. No horror games for me, thanks.

From what I can tell the game is actually framed toward 2.35:1. So they aren't actually just cutting off the top and bottom of the screen, but giving you more viewing space on the sides. Honestly unless modders can change the actual orientation of the camera in relation to the character, this game will look weird if you put it in 16:9.

The game looks exactly like I thought it would, with clunky looking movements, and some visuals aspects that aren't so great, but overall an experience I think is worth having. I am interested in this and will probably get it tomorrow. I also like the blend of horror, from psychological to slasher. Weirdly enough, the main bad guy is honestly the least scary looking enemy in the game it seems.

I wanted to get this on Xbox One to have a story based game on there for once, but again...PC is the way to go . Not only the letterbox debug command, but a God Mode as well...

Glad the game looks good though. Looks like dumb fun. Gross outs and jump scares to Alien's mood and dread.
