The hot/cold weather outfit categories seems to be available for everyone. I only bought the base games when it came out, and they are there for when I create a sim. I don't think it really does anyone special other than give you additional outfit slots, unless you own the seasons pack, though.

@ybbaaabby@vinny I tried watching the "HD" version of the video on a few different players and there appears to be some audio clipping / skipping? It's pretty noticeable just in the first two minutes. I haven't tried playing the other qualities to see if it's in those videos too.

@raynorshine: I'm not surprised, I mentioned 400 since I did math several months ago and was looking for a way to get the whole thing during a sale at some point and assumed there was some discounfrs since then...

I know they're making mounds of cash but most people can't afford the content of this game it's a brutal amount you need to make the game feature rich. The full base game almost feels like a demo in comparison and to download almost any custom houses or characters you need obscure ass pieces from different expansions and dlc.

The start of the video already makes the quick look feel like a special episode of 13 Deadly Sims, this is gonna be good! Always love the excitement of any crew member showing off their favorite games or franchises in quicklooks!

@steveurkel: It does seem like the expansions at least get heavily discounted at times - back around when 13DS started there was a sale where IIRC you could get the base game + all expansions for $80, I think - but it really does not help that they split the content that would have been in expansions previously into so many smaller things this time around.

I only ever played the base game for a few hours when it came out (didn’t dislike it, just ended up playing other stuff) and 13DS made me want to play more but I didn’t want to drop even that much on it.

The Sims content, as always, is great as hell.

@steveurkel: I thought you threw out 400 sarcastically, I meant to say no, you're right and it's even worse than that. I was into the Sims 2 and the Sims 3 made it so you can run around the neighborhood freely without loading individual lots, which was a big improvement, but I'm not seeing that kind of improvement with the Sims 4, in fact the base game Sims 4 launched with fewer features than base Sims 3, even omitting series standards like pools(although I did hear pools were patched in a few months after launch due to community backlash). The Sims 3 had its own seasons expansion with different bells and whistles but at its core it adds a weather simulation fuction to the base game with holidays, outfits and such just like this one. I have no idea how games are made but could rehashing the seasons expansion from 3 into 4 really be as expensive to produce as say either of the Starcraft 2 expansion or EA's own 4 Battlefield 1 dlc packs, which were priced at $40? I just hope average age of user isn't a factor in this pricing because I do think it was a factor in EA's Battlefront 2 monitization strategy.

GBE audio has been kind of whack on uploads lately. Weird cutting in and out on the mics, very small but noticeable dips.
