Quick Look: The Sims Medieval

Say whaaaaaat!

I'm guessing the medieval time period will go all the way up to the Renaissance and beyond, past Alpha Centauri space colony simulations, all in the span of countless expansions and DLCs. 

I saw a TV commercial for this and ended up wondering what the heck it is... and this quick look barely helped. I still have no idea what this game is supposed to be! It's like The Sims, except without everything I remember from The Sims...

Technically, that isn't a definition of the original word, it's just a generalization of the term to be applied to a broad range of subjects. He was right about it's true definition. They could not have made that king look more like Jeff if they scanned his face in to the game.

I wish I had watched this before I played the game, it's always kind of irritating to watch someone else get tutorialized while you already know what's going on. 
 
Great game though, later on it gets crazy when you have multiple people in your party. Even the first big quest where you have to become allies with the Crab Bandit is pretty funny.

Having never played a Sims game in my life, this looks confusing and weird. Are all Sims games like this? Drowned in their own menial, yet text heavy concepts?

Their character kinda reminds me of a fatter Tim Heidecker, especially with the combed-back hair.

Game looked kinda cool.  Crazy weird but I am very interested.  It does kinda feel like some text based adventure.

This game is great

Funniest QL in a while.
Game looks sort of pointless. If there's no house building and furnishing in a Sims product I don't care, sInce that's all those games have ever been to me.

I'm less than a minute into this video, but I swear if this is anything like A Kingdom for/A World of Keflings, I'll be all over it. 

Well, it looks weird, but at least they finally tried to put a game into The Sims.

I'm not gonna lie, that whole entire thing seemed great.

For those who've purchased it, does it come with the dreaded DRM from Sims 3 and Spore? 
The game itself looks much better than I though it would be. Might pick it up....

The Sims Medieval is absolutely crazy. This was a great Quick Look, but I'm not sure about the game itself.

Wow... This game got horribly misrepresented in this quick look.. they didn't even get past the tutorial.. 
 
I think this is one of those cases where one of them should have played the game before, so they had an idea what it is...  I've played it for about 10 hours and i love it even though i didn't like Sims 3..
 
Medieval is nothing like The Sims 3, and people going in, thinking it is, is going to be confused as hell.. 
 It's an adventure game!

Actually, considering that, in our modern times, we use the phrase "get medieval", the phrase "get antediluvian" would be an appropriate play-on-words, considering they are in Medieval times. What is the "medieval times" of Medieval times? Antedivulian. "

Anyways, that QL was boring as shit. I honestly found it more amusing to sit there for 40 minutes and watch the dude die in the Sims 3 QL they did. But then again, I'm tired right now, so it's not exactly like I'm in the best position to watch this.

I agree with Jeff, if you're gonna have everything the characters say appear in text boxes drop the Simlish and start recording real dialog instead.

I could get behind this game. Now if only $50 came falling from the sky.

This is the most interested I've been in a Sims game in, like, 50-60 releases. I think I will try it.

The Sims 3 quick look was much better. There should be a warning here that there is no, "delete all the doors, trap some fools, and watch them die" through-line for this Quick Look:) 
 
I think I'll go check out the QL for the Sims 3 again, come to think of it!
