Glad that this finally gets the coverage here that it deserves. The engine, the cut-scenes and the interface look great in 3D by the way. This might actually be one of the games that benefits the most from the feature, because you really get the impression that you look down on a miniature battle field. Doesn't quite come across as well in 2D ...

@simian: Turn off the WIFI. That should take care of most of the crashes (and you wouldn't need it anyway).

Seems to me like Valkyria Chronicles with a top down perspective. 
 
But that might just be my unfamiliarity with this genre.

This looks pretty cool. Looks Fire Emblem-ish and Advance Wars-y. I got a lot of play time out of those games on the GBA and DS.

If you like this kind of game (squad turn based strategy) but don't have a 3DS, definately take a look at a little game called Frozen Synapse.

Graphics remind me of GTA: Chinatown Wars. If I had a 3DS I would probably get this.

That first dude look like the villian from Uncharted 2.

Not digging the cartoony look, but other than that, it looks cool.

Reminds me of Metal Gear Acid, except not card based.

Hey, the guys doing the XCOM reboot told us turn-based strategy games don't get made any more!

I'm 5 minutes into this video, and I kinda want to order this game now and get a 3DS in August when the price cut happens. I'm kinda in bonerville looking at a game that is part FFTactics and part Frozen Synapse.

Grrrr. I have been dying to play a game like this for forever. Why do they always have to keep putting turn based games out on handhelds only! I'm not going to pay $300 to buy the game and a whole new system.

It looks like Tom Clancy's Valkyria Chronicles. That's not a knock, I loved VC. I should try this one out.

so you didn't read the news earlier today that Nintendo is gonna drop the 3DS price to $170 starting August 12?

Best 3DS launch title by far.

While the game is fun its not that fun. I think the excitement for this game and buzz was the fact that it was one of the 2 decent games at launch and that was pushing it.

Reminds a little bit of Valkyria Chronicles or advanced wars. If I ever get a 3DS, I might consider getting this as well.

Booooooo! I wuz rooting for the Hostile Officer. Seemed like the underdog way to go. I liked the racial layout for the crew... White and leader, Black and strong, Asian as duplitious(and probably wants whiteman's job!), and in junior co-starring role, a Weman as the medic(made sowing movements to heal). They even let her have a gun....I know I'm being dumb and I even liked the game a little, maybe the cartoon look made something a little stand-out. Luved the red shade/bad guy effect in the beginning.

Looks fun!

Watching this makes me wish they would make another old-school type Front Mission game. :/

Already wanted this game, want it more now!

game actually looks kinda sweet, and love that there's a Black guy, a white guy, a woman aaaand an asian guy

Yeah, with the perspective and the tiles this definitely reminds me of Acid as well. I really loved the second Acid.

It's sad that besides the set piece Street Fighter 4 this was the only other true "must buy" piece of software at launch.

The rest of the launch games were either really average (like Ridge Racer 3D and Pilotwings) or garbage (like Asphalt and that Dinosaur 3D game).

While I don't regret buying my 3DS as I have gotten multiple TDY trips out of SSF4, it really has been a pretty terrible launch period. I can see why they are dropping the price this early in the game.

Good thing you broke down the hardware, the cartridge, and the software code and determined that it was the game itself that was "crashy". That's excellent work there MacGyver! Gonna build a helicopter outta duct tape and paperclips next? You must be some kind of super genius! Thank you for enlightening the rest of the world!
