This game is a lot of fun, wish it wasn't $60 though.

Pretty much. It's the only MP game in a long time that got it's hooks on me. Been enjoying it alot with buddies.

As a fan of this game, a lot of the stuff Jeff has said about this game on the podcast is true, mainly the shitty currency stuff. Outside of that stuff, this game has a lot of layers to it, and if you can't break through a few of them it just seems like a shitty shooter.

I've put a ton of hours into this game. I NEVER play multiplayer alone. I only play when I have at least two friends with me and I really only have the most fun when we have all 5.

I feel like that says a lot about the game.

Don't worry, I'm sure it won't be for long.

Something i notice to varying degrees in games is that games tend to make all rooms far taller and wider than the real life equivalent would be. In this game it really stands out and seems weird, I know what the proportions of the inside of a house feel like, it aint that.

I really don't understand why they decided to put the Rainbow Six brand behind this game, seems like this would've been a good opportunity to put out another new "IP" and keep Rainbow Six with a single player campaign (with the terrorist hunt online modes too) or at least a better explanation in what's going on in the bigger picture. The price point is just too much for me to commit into a experience like this.

I don't know about this game. There seems like there should be more to this.

I'm enjoying this as much as I can now because in all likelihood the community will be dead by March.

Just to clarify (re: the conversation at 17:36, the "6" in Rainbow 6 isn't doesn't have anything to do with the amount of nations/continents or anything like that, but rather John Clark (the main character of the book) is the "Rainbow Six" or the director of the Rainbow organization. The Deputy Director is Rainbow Five. So the number is a sort of ranking designation.

If you just want regurgitated press releases there are plenty of streamers and youtube channels that fit the bill

Fantastic game, but a terrible R6 game. In my top 10 this year. I spent $40 on it and I'm happy with it. I can't help but think how great it would be if it were open to custom maps with a server browser. I don't need unlocks in every game. It's a fun shooter with unnecessary progression. Just let me pick a dude and loadout. I'm not even touching ranked play until I unlock and kit out more operators.

@austin_walker there are actually weapon unlocks (like sights, suppressors, etc.), you have to go to the operator menu and then click on the operator who you want to go to and select loadout and then the weapon you want to buy stuff for.

The game doesn't tell you about the unlocks so I can understand why you would think there were none

Game looks rough. At least the QL had plenty of "Best of Giant Bomb" moments.

Let's go down a Rainbow 6 checklist and check:

A Rainbow team: absent!

Tactical realistic firefights: I guess

A team following your commands: absent

Tactical planning prior to the mission: virtually absent

"Tango down": Haven't heard any so far.

This has a feeling of a demo of a game that will be coming out next year....except it's not going to, will it? At least this is a step in the right direction following some of the previous R6 games I played.

I find it weird that the spetsnaz super special forces guy they unlocked is using a machine gun from the 1920s.

I upgraded my video card recently and this came with it. I got about halfway through the tutorial and lost interest. Maybe you guys can change my mind.

They fucked up with the SAS explanation. Everybody knows it stands for Super Army Soldiers.

Kind of interested in this game when it gets less expensive and I can convince a bunch of friends to buy it with me. Also happy when GBEast does the QLs for these multiplayer focused games - I feel it suits them better.

It turns out this aint no GeoMod.

Ha, yeah this game looks a lot better when you watch a group of skilled, coordinated players on Twitch. Then again, that was true for Evolve as well, and we saw how that turned out.

Stuff like this used to be free productions made by mod-teams, in the past.

And with better AI and gameplay elements.

And SWAT4 was worth every penny and I'd just buy a HD remaster of that over the $60 this.
