I played this like all day yesterday, just messing around with tons of CDs and seeing what they generate. Cake seems to produce the weirdest results, while St Vincent ends up making really cool tracks.

As someone who really only knew of Vib Ribbon by name before E3 and the UPF that you guys played it on, I bought this on the PSN the day it came out. I am seriously loving it.

I only saw this game from when the GB guys worked at Gamespot and did the 10 year retrospective of the ps1, and then upf. Just picked it up tuesday and i'm pretty into it. However it is a perfect example for why rhythm games weren't popular till Guitar Hero.

I want to eat this game.

To answer Jeff's question, I think no. I have no nostalgia for this game and am not planning on playing this. I like Vibri's voice, the music is neat, and I enjoy Brad's enthusiasm for the game but I don't think the actual gameplay would do anything for me.

Man this is still really charming. I only ever played the demo of this that had the tutorial and half of the second song but I really liked it. The music is nostalgic in a way that puts me in a good mood and reminds me of a younger, less cynical me. I don't want to bring out my PS3 anymore but I'll probably pick this up if it comes to PS4.

And if they ever make an updated version of this they should call it Vib Reborn.

@darkbeatdk: I've imported a lot of PS3 and DS games, but those are mostly because of licensing stuff making them impossible in the US (Jump Super/Ultimate Stars, J-Stars Victory Vs) or shithead publishers not wanting to release them here for some reason (Yakuza Kenzan/5/Ishin)

It took me entirely too long to realize that when they had the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack on, Jeff was not actually playing the game! Also, to answer his question: I never played Vib Ribbon before, but am old enough to still own quite a lot of music CD's and yes, I am totally going to buy this.

I had no idea Vib Ribbon didn't come out in the US since it came out here in Europe. Not many games that came out here and not in the US, more that came out in the US mot not here. I just know of Rapid Racer and maybe Bishi Bashi Special didn't come out in the US.

I remember, back in 99 how much everyone was into this game before it came out. It was featured heavily in almost all the games mags here in the UK

Never played or heard of it before. Got it yeaterday and love it. Soundtrack is great and its charming as heck.

Speaking of buying Japanese video games that you don't know if you will be able to play, I ordered Motto Sonicomi from play-asia. No idea if I will understand enough to play since about all the Japanese I can read is yes and no.
