Party Chat seems to be the only real awesome thing to come of this NXE thing.

How are the themes for the origional dashboard going to be handled?  Thankfully, I didn't drop points on those silly things... but say someone spent a few dollars on them.  Poof gone ?

Got the email today, supposedly will be popping up as a dash update between now and November 1st.

6 gigs for fallout ey? Seems we might actually be able to install a game and still have a little space on the 20 gig drives. Opportune time for MS to slash prices for 120 gigs.. Or profit off of the obscene overpricing of course.

Looks great but now i'm afraid i'll have to buy a 100 gig harddrive just to install my games.

Jeff: Have you tried outputting through Component cables since getting that HDCP error? This may be huge, people with 360s that don't have HDMI may not be able to stream.

Couldn't care less about the avatars but otherwise the interface looks clean and easy to use.

Looks great. Much better than the current setup in my opinion.

All in all, it seems like a pretty pointless update. Seems more like a way to jump on the Mii bandwagon and shove more ads in a players face. And the load times don't seem any better when playing off the harddrive.SO they streamlined a few things. Big whoop. Why even have the update?

I'm not too impressed by NXE, I think I'm in a minority of those who did not mind the blades at all.

I don't really know how to feel about this whole thing. Overall I think it's a pretty good upgrade. Microsoft needed to spruse some things up. The Avatars though, are so whatever. The interface is cleaner and that's all that matters I guess but I think Microsoft is trying too hard. They are wanting to be Nintendo so bad and they have no idea how to reach or even emulate that market. They need to learn that creativity and innovation has been and always will be key. They have neither.

I have to say that all the advertising stuff is very annoying, and I hope there will be plenty of options down the line, due to user complaints that will result in me being able to not being shoved crap in my face all the time.

I thought the avatars are pretty dumb, but everything else looks really really good.

Microsoft took the best parts from the PS3 and Wii, combined them with what they already had, then applied some extra sauce for good measure. I'm not a huge fan of the look, but I really like the features and organization. 

Looks good. Not impressed with the downloading to HD thing though. Oh well, I have a 20gig hard drive anyways so it wouldn't matter.

Thanks for the tour Jeff, definitely looking forward to this. Fable 2 is making a shit ton of noise playing off the disc as it is CONSTANTLY streaming, and sometimes it crashes, so hopefully this will alleviate that a little bit. Also 5,9GB for a 360 game is much more modest than I expected, which is great. Looks like I'll be installing almost every game I buy onto my HDD.

It's a good update by the Microsoft team.  I'm just happy I can finally install games to my hard drive and play them without waking up the whole house at 3:00am!!  Nice

Wii wi-fi and PSN are free. We pay for XBL and STILL have to see ads all the time? Put an end to it Microsoft!

Can you boot a game from the HD-DVD drive? Have two game disks in at the same time?

This looks horrible.  What is M$ thinking???  I already own a Wii... why would I want that on my 360???  Those are two completely different experiences.

I am loving the speed, the Games library is almost instant.

I love the new dashboard, the overall look of it is very appealing.

Great preview. So far I like the change, although not drastically different, I think they changed it to compete with the Wii's Mii (duh) and to better advertise their sponsors. Overally I enjoyed it, can't wait till Nov 19th

This looks really slick! Seems like I'll be waiting till Nov 19th to test this out since I didn't make it through to the early testing. 

Still don't care about the avatars a great deal, but the new design as won me over! Liked the intro. I do like some of the new menus an such seems to run much better then before.

I'll even admit the blade system is showing it's age now.

Since most of us will have 20GB hard drives that means 1-2 games installed. It's not going to be worth it to uninstall and install new games all the time so I guess I'll only install a game if I know I'm going to be playing that game for quite some time.
