Dan I can't... dan. Dan? There is not a homogenous, correct human being. Why are you different than Brad, or from Jason? Why is your dad different from any man his generation? What does this question even mean?

Edit: oh jesus christ the actual question is "how much upkeep is required for owning a home." Why did this have to take some bizarre form about the question of human nature?

Edit: The QTEs in this game around this section of the castle part are extremely specific and unforgiving. Even with years and years of experience, the KB&M controls cause me a death or two at these parts. If you don't know it's coming, it's at least one guaranteed death. I love the hellin heck out of this game but the QTEs are definitely not something that's aged well.

edit: What is happening? With this whole playdate??? This is like the Blair Witch of playdates.

An interesting note about Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom; Steven Spielberg argued that the film was way too extreme for a 'PG', but nowhere near enough for an 'R' rating, and the MPAA agreed and created the PG-13 rating we have today.

The ragging on Dan on air is becoming a bummer. I am not denying he says ridiculous shit sometimes, but it seems like it's getting to the point where the four of you act like everything he says is ridiculous shit. It is sometimes obvious what he means even when he says it in a Dan way then it devolves into him just getting shouted at and you all feeling superior. It gets weird.

I was so annoyed by that, that i actually bought it and finished it my self. Would still love to see them return to it.

First off, the mute dan was worth the Jeff cackle, but secondly, as a person who very deeply appreciates Dan's one-of-a-kind-ness; for show or not on any given dan-ism, I do not like the way the crew handles his energy some of the time. I like it when they laugh, jab, correct, naturally appalled or surpisingly retort, but cutting him off and muting his mic is starting to come off as mean. Begins to remind me of how ADHD kids were treated when I was growing up, just send them to the principal instead of hearing what they have to say, even if it is some crazy nonsense or for goofs. I believe they call people who do this 'killjoys'. Don't let Beast become a scene where Dan is the fun one, and everyone else a bit of a buzzkill. I offer this, what funny nonsequitor are you guys bringing to the table?

I am sure Dan can handle it but I wish the crew would maybe value him more and engage instead of just muting him. If that's a bit, like other commentators have asked, please limit that, it reminds me all too much of bullying, in some gut feeling way. Thank you, and Dan, keep on being you. Get that goddamn salt shotgun, it looks awesome, and the crew are being pamby's about it.

lastly, QTE's are bullshit, no matter what era no matter what game, that shit upsets me. The most recent God of War's punching bouts had me so pissed for breaking the potentially cool cutscenes and I cannot understand beyond 'well we have to keep this interactive somehow' why they decided to mar the game with that long expired trope.

Also having been present during the recording, you guys got trolled by chat pretty hard and it was great.

Terrific explosive ending. What a season.

Half of the GBE Playdates this year have been Resident Evil playthroughs.

I miss the variety of 2018.

Dan is endlessly entertaining. I love the enthusiasm he brings to every feature he's in and I'll never understand why some members put him down when he doesn't know a thing. The attitude becomes "I know more about x/y/z, therefore I am a better person." The ego on some people...

Agree with the other comments about Dan's treatment in this playdate. I hope the crew shows him more respect in the future.

@knoxt: I'm sure that was a response to the last episode being entirely focused on off topic conversation, much of it driven by Dan, and that being the source of complaints. Some attention being paid to the game is good. OT is fine, that's what Giant Bomb is about...but all things are better in moderation. I prefer the Dan faucet having a Vinny valve on it.

@sweetz: Then they should say "we should focus on the game", instead of berating him for 2 hours. It's even more distracting this way.

Vinny chose a weird hill to die on here. Also, continuously muting Dan just wasn't fun, idk if he was just in a weird mood from the construction or something but I think it was the first time he's really struck me as a jerk :(

I kinda get the Dan mic mute thing, but I think it's a little mean spirited. So many GB features with Dan turn into "Dan gets worked up about something he doesn't know and the crew has to work hard to calm him down and move on". Muting his mic isn't the right way to do it, but I'd be lying if I didn't think Dan can be a bit much sometimes. I think part of it is definitely him playing it up or being intentionally stubborn, but I also think the crew is maybe a little conditioned to get worked up in response to Dan almost regardless of what he says.

There are better ways to reign it in, because I do believe Dan is starting from a genuine place, everyone just gets a little too excited too easily and videos end up derailing in the same way every time. It can be a funny bit, but when this bit happens so often it stops being entertaining.

Gonna join in on the whole "you guys were being jerks to Dan this episode". I kinda get it when he was being too loud, but then you muted his mic because you just didn't like what he was saying. Then you went on a 5 minute tirade against him for trying to share a thing that he learned and acted like he was trying to tell people to eat silica packets, and it kept coming back up after he just wanted to move on from it. It's too hard on him and also wasn't very funny because I know what he was trying to say.

Edit: Grievous debuted in Star Wars: Clone Wars(the 2003 Gendy Tartakovsky cartoon, not the still running CG thing), and he had no force powers he was just a cyborg with lightsabers. He was really cool and intimidating in the cartoon and then a bumbling idiot in Revenge of the Sith and it STILL UPSETS ME.

Edit 2: You're all crazy, Boondock Saints is great. Maybe it's just the context and way in which you were told it's good. It's not at all amazing, but maybe if I had watched it in college after all the college people told me it was fantastic I'd feel the same way.

Yea re4 is the only game that really pushes the limits on QTE. You really have to mash those button prompts, I remember getting blisters on some of these! Abby is going to lose it when she goes up against a certain soldier later.......

Qte's are such garbage no matter what framerate we're at.

Also, I enjoy Dan's questions and weird thoughts. He's such a lovable character even when he is a heel. Everyone dumping on him. But to be fair, I think we all need to clam down. It's like when you clown around with your friends and ball bust and make fun as a joke. The Beast crew are clearly friends and they're just having fun with eachother.

On a completely unrelated note: I for one like the Star Wars prequels. Yes they're not great but I enjoy them and love them for what they are. We didn't all grow up in the 80s when the first movies came out and have nostalgia colour view of star Wars.

@parathorn: i guess maybe the game is uninteresting to them because theyve played it before so they just "kneejerk rag" on dan. But for me watching this with the "how do flavors work?" "how do hobbies work?" shtick makes me feel like i've seen this video before and then i lose interest too. i guess what im saying is i get it - you're bored but we're bored too

I don't think muting Dan was mean spirited at all. Dan tends to get very distracting during these livestreams with his shenanigans. Not everyone watching enjoys him dominating every conversation so I for one appreciate him being moderated a bit.

Also, with all of the things Dan has lucked into in his career, often times with minimal effort, I am not going to lose sleep over some lighthearted roasting from his coworkers.

This has gotta be one of the weirdest GB streams I’ve ever seen. The turn that Vinny takes with the mine cart thing is just baffling. Seemed like everyone needed a break from each other.
