Ba bum bum bum, two, three, four!

Air rally is a prime example of a mini game where the visuals are designed to fuck with you. The distance between the planes has no bearing on the rhythm but it feels so much more high stakes when they’re far apart.

Glad Abby is continuing, love those games and they make for a perfect second screen watch for me (and yes, even if she stays silent during the actual mini games).

Also my first experience with a Rhythm Fever was also hard as hell. It always sounds simpler than it actually is when you just listen to it.

Is the 100 Baby Challenge over?

I’m all for the crew playing what excites them in the moment but I also hope 100-Baby Challenge isn’t gone for good. My wife and I really enjoy that series.

I always thought all the lyrical songs were a bit weird and corny because they were translated from Japanese, but I'm not sure how true that is. They hold a special, corny place in my heart anyway.

These Rhythm Heaven streams have been so damn good; easily one of my favorite features on the site. The fact that Abby manages to play this game, interact with chat and be entertaining all at once is impressive as hell. Love seeing this game get some love on that site; thank you Abby!

I didn't realize how much input lag Abby was dealing with until she plugged the headphones into the gamepad and started hitting the button way early. I'd say adjusting to that would make the game feel a lot more natural and easier, but hey, she's gotten this far.

Just started this one! Hope the latency issues get squashed. Running a Wii Game through the Wii U presumably through HDMI and capture and streaming gear....that has to make this almost impossible. I don't know how she did as well as she did Friday.

I can’t believe I skipped this game. I guess I had decided I was done with the Wii by the time it released. It’s a shame, really... It looks great.

Truly, this game is peak Abby.

The lyrical song in this episode has extremely high anime opening energy. It's super weird with a bunch of rhythm game smacks happening, but just imagine it playing while a bunch of anime girls and boys twirl around and a bunch of credits go by.

The chat immediately throwing around "helpful" suggestions either haven't played the game or don't remember how much they failed at songs before they got it right. It's a hard game. You won't get it the first time, and the thing to do about it is practice, like you would if you played a song on a real instrument.

I kinda feel like if this game were released today, NoA wouldn't bother localizing the songs like "Tonight". I feel like as a society we've reached a point where we're fine with music having lyrics in a different language in an otherwise fully translated work, even for kids. That said, I think the English "Tonight" is a totally fine jazzy pop-rock bop. It's catchy AF like "Ashley's Song" from that WarioWare game (at least the version that's in Smash) or something like "Escape from the City" from SA2. Having catchy lyrics (whether or not you think the lyrics are "good") in a game where you're trying to focus on the rhythm and timing is hella distracting though, so I totally get the frustration.

100%. As much as there might be a kernel of truth to the effects of input lag, it's been addressed to death. Abby's setup is the best one can reasonably expect, and the lag isn't going to go away just because more people point it out. Also even if she isn't a drummer like Alex, Abby probably has more music-playing experience than half the people telling her to listen instead of watching (what a concept!).

Abby is the most brave member of staff for streaming her first time with a rhythm game as a regular feature.

Unless the audio and visuals of the game are not in sync with each other, keeping your eyes open should always be better [as long as you are watching informative parts of the screen]. Measured reaction times are consistently better when you can integrate multiple types of sensation compared to having just one sensation alone. Unless something visual is actively trying to trick you, and is succeeding, you should just keep your eyes open like your instincts tell you.

Ignore the haters. This game is really hard especially for someone like me who has no rhythm. I don't think I was able to finish this game and take me forever to finish some of the levels.

That being said I found the 3DS version to be a easier and I believe none of the remixes have lyrics in them. You should give that version a try one day.

Loving these vids. That monkey watch one looked like a nightmare, and it was great to see you pass it on the second try on that .5 stream.

That being said, the song in this stream is a banger and every time you say you hate the song, I die a little inside. The only redeeming thing about failing remix 3 so much was that I could hear the song more.

Abby, I'm terrible at Rhythm Heaven, so you have bigger balls than me, but I think that "Tonight" song is alright. Not something I would seek out, but it's by far the best song we've heard so far from this game. It reminds me of Persona.

Are the comments about Abby having no rhythm mostly in the stream chat? Because I'm hardly seeing any in the video comments. Rather, a bunch of comments about input lag/audio desync, which seem 100% the cause since she's playing it via a capture device. Abby's doing remarkably well considering that she's playing it that way.

I agree, Abby. That song is really bad. I suspect it's one of those songs translated from Japanese to English which is why it's so bad.

Songs like that, at first it's funny how mediocre it is, but when you have to hear it so many times it truly loses even that and just becomes irritating.

Rhythm Heaven probably should never have lyrics. It's awesome when it doesnt.

Edit: oh, and if that part where abby does the muscle man blind and cant stop laughing at the farts doesnt make it into a best of DEREK DONE MESSED UP hahaha
