Hi Ben!

Started playing this a few nights ago and having fun so far. The biggest complain I have is definitely the amount of bot matches you get. I've only done 15ish Ranked matches and maybe 6-7 of those were against bots.

I understand that they want to let you win at lower ranks so you keep playing and maybe put some money in but man its frustrating when I feel like I'm getting put into the "kiddie queue" if I happen to lose a match.

The more i see of this game, the less enjoyable it seems.

Like i don't understand why 30% of the screen has to be covered by that radial menu at all times. Maybe it's useful for certain heroes that have a targeted spell, but the heroes Jan uses, have AOE attacks. You don't want surf to hit right where the opponent stands, but catch him in the middle of the wave so it's harder for him to dodge both damage instances. If you get chased, you want the hurricane to hit slightly in front of the opponent so he runs into it after cast-time.

The double points at the end of the game also rub me the wrong way. These kind of comeback mechanics look exciting on the graph, but during the game it will just start to feel the last ~2 big fights will decide the game no matter how well your team played in the first 8 minutes. And that will impact the heroes that are good. Why would you care about a hero that's strong in the laning phase if it doesn't matter enough to the outcome of the game?

I will say that i like how diveable the basket-zones are. And the enemy being able to pick up the berries behind it, could make for some exciting plays. The game also seems to have a handful of good mobility moves that can lead to exciting plays like the one Jan showed on that video. That's fun.

@onemanarmyy: That Radial menu is for giving you more control over auto attacks, since they auto target the enemy Pokemon with the least health in the standard setting. It's also off by default. I've considered turning it on myself but think it's too big and ugly to put up with at the moment.

By the way, Moves do autotarget enemies or wild Pokemon automatically in the standard setting as well, if you press and release the button without moving the stick. I believe Jan turned this off.

Abilities auto-targeting sounds very annoying though. Especially when you have a bunch of AOE abililies like Jan's heroes have. I wouldn't want my surf to end right where the enemy is so he can take 1 step back and dodge all the damage. Unless i'm at 5% hp and want to be as safe as possible as i try to dish out some damage without stepping forward.

Sometimes, i want to take account of the casting time of hurricane and place it slightly in the path of the enemy instead of targeting the opponents current position.
