just started playing and opened up the site and see this just uploaded. This game is so good dude.
Oh hey, it's another one.
As soon as Ben mentioned it's on Game Pass for PC, I opened up the Microsoft Store, searched for it, and downloaded it. Man, Game Pass is so good.
I had to look it up because the UI and movement REALLY reminds me of downwell but nope, different studio. It's not a ripoff by any means but it's eerily similar in some ways.
The map, enemies, and some of the combat reminds me of Flinthook. This looks more interesting to me through.
@villainfb43: I wish I liked Flinthook more, but this looks way up my alley

The fact that Ben chose to turn off pixel text in the settings offends me.

So glad Ben decided to show this off as I wouldn't have checked it out otherwise! Also a fan of the HD text as opposed to pixel.

Ben has it the wrong was around. stalactite has a C for "ceiling", and stalagmite has a G for "ground"
Or as a pervy old chemistry teacher once told my class "stalactites come down. like ladies tights. hehehe" *shudder*
Do people not get tired of these? Ben especially, since he has to try them all.
Please try Monolith too

I'll be honest, as soon as someone mentions stalagmite vs. stalactite I zone out for 10 minutes thinking about what's right and researching sayings.
I also think of that cave Boogerman level, because it has enemies on stalactites. And yes, I needed to confirm that C is for ceiling.
Anyway, game looks neat and I'll try the Game Pass version. But like most unfinished games, I won't spend much time in there until the final release.
Stalactites hang tightly
Stalagmites stand mightily

The controls in this game are sublime, its A LOT of fun, didn't expect to like this at all but the quicklook made me download it on GamePass and I'm glad I did..
Looks fun but that name is pretty bad
Ben should really apologize for proudly being so wrong about stalagmites and stalactites

I adore Monolith, and almost instantly thought of that on seeing this play. Gonna have to get my PC working tomorrow.
Stalactites hang. Like tits. Stalactits. It's not a mnemonic device for polite company, but it works for me.

This game really does look like if Monolith was a platformer.
Something about the jump-into-portal-warp animation and the overall style reminds me of Moonlighter.
love almost buying a game on steam then finding its on game pass
game pass rules
this game is also pretty rad
This game's style is almost a direct rip from Hyper Light Drifter.
You can't tell me these devs didn't play Monolith. Might as well check if opening the map lets you teleport to any room you've been to. The whole presentation, the way you have to fight minibosses to open the boss room, the way the bosses are introduced and even the bullets, all of that just screams Monolith. You look at a screenshot of the game where you don't see that it has gravity and you'd think you're looking at Monolith.
Holy shit, this game looks tight. Top bad the Word “Rouge-like”” is such a turn off for me.
Think that's at least the 2nd time I've heard Ben say that saying about Stalactites / Stalagmites. As others have stated ya got it backwards man. Hanging on tight, pushing up with might.
Was your chemistry teacher Master Roshi?
Anyway happy to hear this is on Game Pass, this service just keeps on giving and I hope it continues to provide new eyes on low-key indies with just a minor investment.
I just wanted to pile on the whole stalagmite/stalactite thing. Love Ben, though, don't get me wrong.
This looks a decent amount of fun, but if these devs truly wanted to 'do something completely different' with the roguelikes.. i don't see it here. This is soo closely related to a bunch of other ones.
I'm not into rogue likes but man this game looks tight with it's movement and combat that you never have to touch the ground.
