@crimsonjester: Yeah... I had to mentally adjust myself so I could tune out the out-of-place outbursts. The tone in Jan's voice after some of them really reflected my own thoughts of "Ok, that was weird or unneeded, but let's move on."

This isn't usually my jam and I haven't substantively played any SMT or persona prior, but it kind of looks great? The focus on combat and team systems might be my selling point, in contrast to other games in this space that struggle to be a weird time management sim. Keeping a tight schedule in my daily planner and exploring the dynamic of being a student is not a video game I want to play. Leveling up pokedemons to dump hot ass on god is.

Well, if focus on combat and team systems is your jam, mainline SMT is really good at that.

@axersia: I don't know that "honesty" is the appropriate term to use here. I will say: I found it out of place and wasn't really into it. Anecdotally, the GiantBomb crowd skews a little older and a little more mature (for obvious reasons.) That kind of humor is a little younger and more low brow. It just came off as kind of like high school teen humor (no offense michael, sorry!)

Just think about the number of times the other GiantBomb staff mentioned "titties"; I'm personally having trouble thinking of one. I didn't mind him as a whole; I thought he was pretty informative and fun to listen to, but I thought that bit was off-putting, personally.

I think Mike and Jan together is a lot of fun, partially just because they can't help but be so Bay with it (especially Mike). Mike's also always really thorough trying to explain the games he's talking about when he's on GB, you can tell he wants to bring his A-game.

But he is also totally your goofball homie who's gonna fly off the handle with some "forgot I was on national TV" steez at least once per appearance.

I don't mind that especially as GB has become less and less unpredictable, but it is always a little uncomfortable for me when people start tiering characters based on appearance; reminds me of Dan earlier this summer on Fire Escape ranting about how Lady D from RE Village is objectively a model of an attractive real person, but she's also not real so why is everyone fetishizing her?
