Australian here. Sometimes it’s not really about shortening a name but making it sound informal as fuck.

Also if you turn jan Into janza, you get the benefit of having a name that someone could yell at you while slightly drunk which is pretty much how we decide to do anything down here.

Not that they're especially intrusive but these little "fixes" they made with the flashlight in the closet and the cable to the refrigerator are all very strange. It feels very uh, Cinema Sins-y if that makes sense, like they can't just let an oddity be an oddity. Instead it's treated as a problem to be fixed.

Jesus christ, Pyramid Head, Jan was trying to HELP PEOPLE.

I can totally understand why someone would dislike Steven Universe cause there are some super nasty parts of the fanbase.

That said, it's a great show! Definitely gets way more serious and sad as it goes on though, big contrast to the first season which was jokes and goofs 24/7, so I can understand why a person would fall off if they're not interested in the story being told.
