Really excited to revisit this, as the theater on opening weekend was laughing uncontrollably for the last half hour. I need to know if it was mass hysteria all those years ago or if this movie was actually a comedy.

Oh exciting! But it's kinda hard to line up where to sync it with streaming services from other countries since there will be different more/less logos :( The movie already started for them and I am still watching logos on Amazon Prime (GER).

The first Silent Hill movie is good. I haven't seen the second. The music is amazing.

My favorite 2/3s of a great movie!

It is a REAL SHAME about that final 1/3, where the DIRECTOR HIMSELF decided that the movie needs to stop dead, hard enough that you hear the brake pads grinding, you can SEE THEM SPARKING, and decides to over-explain everything.

My best friend had just died when I saw this movie and the ending made me more emotional than anything since.

They filmed part of the downtown, where the cop lives in my hometown. The funny thing was they did not have to change a thing just put up a few signs. I watched them film for a bit.

I remember liking this movie. I have the Blu-ray and will definitely give it a spin with this commentary track tomorrow night.

Hey, Brantfordian as well? My friends and I visited the set on non-shooting days and yeah, we had a good laugh that they barely had to dress up Colborne Street.

What's the version watched that you "download from your personal library encoded from your copy at home"? And what's the best way to sync this up? VLC? I haven't listened but is there a syncing moment like the mgm lion or something?

I saw this shit in theaters opening night. They had to restart the projection 3 minutes in when she was screaming about "SILENT HIIIIIILL"

"I think there was a fire here" made the entire audience laugh their asses off.

@adamcboyd: First I'll plug my project PodCommentary that syncs up commentary to video files.

However, I would guess most people just download the podcast to their phone and listen with headphones while watching the movie on some other device. They do a "3, 2, 1" countdown on when you're supposed to hit play on the blu-ray.

I found that the first non-studio credit frame of the movie (pictured below) hits at 5 minutes 43 seconds into the podcast.

I love having 4 streaming services and nowhere to watch this 2006 banger for free.

You do you, but I could never watch a movie for the first time while someone was talking in my ear the whole time.

It's been a long time since I watched the movie but I remember liking most of it until the third act. PH is done quite dirty in it, unfortunately.

At the end of the movie Jess starts her explanation of what that was with "because there is no god" and for a minute I didn't realize she meant the Silent Hill monster "God" but it still made sense.

Laurie Holden, still awesome. I expected a much worse movie after all the shit-talk, but its not that bad really... even imdb seems to agree with me.

I don't know if the movie is good or not, BUT I KNOW THIS FILM&40s IS GONNA BE LIT!!

Next time Jan has to step away just pause the recording, this isn't live after all.

And yeah, I even in a youtube vid about one of those Halloween Horror Night theme park makeovers how they based the look of their fake town sets on Centralia,PA “The real life Silent Hill” and internally screamed a little.

I legitimately think this is one of the best video game movies. It does a good job at being a horror movie, and while it's a weird mish-mash of SH 1 and 2, I think they pull the right things from both. Plus it's the one movie where Sean Bean doesn't die.

I like this movie more than I should. I bought this for $1 when the Hollywood Video near me went out of business. Can't believe the younger me never realized the barbed wire rape or that Sharon was a rape child in this movie. Watching it now made it seem so very obvious. I was way more innocent back in 2008 when I first saw this.

Also, not killing Sean Bean is the sign of a subpar production.

I just finished this tonight. Take a drink every time someone says Sharon or Rose and you’ll finish your forty just in time.

I watched Possessor earlier today so seeing Silent Hill's attempt at shocking violence shortly after really just made me laugh.

I think that in the future, a movie where one (or more) of the people doing the commentary greatly dislikes it from previous watches, is probably not a great choice!

film and 40’s: very fun!

Now I'm really hoping for a F&40s for Silent Hill Revelation after they play Silent Hill 2&3 because that movie is absolutely bad and bonkers in ways I don't want to spoil.
