Having recently finished DS1 and 2, gotta say I kinda prefer these sectioned off world design of Demon Souls, it allows for shortcuts but the area's are split off from one another in such a way you kinda can't wander off and get super lost while accidentally walking into the Valley of the Drakes.

Mario 64 and Dune so far have shown up. There's something going on here I think. Maybe about genre defining/very influential games?

But more than that, there's a narrative with the edits and distortion, Danny's confusion during the souls cutscene (he'd seen it before?) and the Dune segment ('I think? Is that what I'm doing? I can't remember setting this stream up').

Anyway! Loving the show, keep it up!

Somehow every time they refer to Tuna Supreme it always catches me off guard, and it's always funny.

For those wondering about the last couple minutes, that's Dune II. Danny referenced Dune at about 55:30("He who controls the spice controls Latria"). I don't think that's a Guilty Treasures hint; I thought the idea for GT was we wouldn't know what game it was until the episode went live.

Loving this series, but I have to get over my personal issues of Danny running by so many items. Read something on the floor that said, "Item", then ignores it (because he's recording a feature). Again, this is my own personal thing because most of these items aren't a big deal, but in DS games, I completely scour each area.

Ok, so there’s something else going on here, I’m pretty sure of it now. Not just the jump cuts to related games and situations to draw from experience but something else. It gets weird after the spider boss is beaten back in the nexus there for a hot minute and I love it.

Oh, and another couple of things real quick. 1 - Pumice Stone. 2 - you can just trek back up the steps in the nexus to pick up your souls again after throwing yourself off.

I'd been wondering why Danny kept referencing Dune; since the first episode, he's referenced "The Spice Melange" at least half a dozen times.

Is Danny somehow trapped in a loop, much like the Ashen Ones and Unkindled, compelled to Link the Flame, even though each time, the effects are diminished?

Danny is Borne to Run, a doomed being compelled to Stream The Souls, slowly losing his mind and his memories with each repetition? ...What does that make Tamoor, conspicuously absent from the cutaway segments?
