Lockdown 2020: Streets of Rage

I used to beat Streets of Rage 2 daily with a friend. So yes, I'm super stoked for 4.

Recently had the revelation that 1 might have the best music. And the Japanese version of 3 is so much easier (and more fun).

While on topic, Remake could've really used an official release.

The music in this game...one of the best.

I was 7~9 playing this game ... the nostalgia always really gets me.

I'm kind of disappointed in the playable cast for 4, from what I've seen so far. Maybe if it does well, they'll release Skate as DLC?

Before anyone else says this is blasphemy, I can say I definitely know where you're coming from because those first few tracks are so fucking hot and slap so big, even if I disagree and personally believe that 2's is still better.

Also, holy fuck that SoR3 music is fucking worse than I remember. Yeesh.

@heatdrive88: 2 has a killer, classic soundtrack with more variety. I feel like as a kid, I just never appreciated the more melancholy aspect of the original. Turns out when you listen to those tracks outside of the game, they're really well-composed with some extremely catchy melodies.

SoR 1 is in my top 5 game soundtracks... So so good.

@aperebus: My thoughts exactly! Even though I was a Final Fight dude back in the day, Streets of Rage is the one I play nowadays, a couple times a year. Loved this stream!

Nice stuff Jason! Streets of rage 2 just beats Final Fight for me and has a fantastic OST. Grand Upper! o/

My friend and I just beat SoR2 and tried to beat SoR3 in the last few days. SoR2 still holds up extremely well. 3 is hard as hell, and I completely forgot that it ends at stage 5 if you play it on easy. Ended up playing the "Chill" edition mod of 3 on steam, and still couldn't beat the robot before the bombs went off.

SoR 4 features ALL playable characters from the past games (albeit in their original retro fashion), so you can play as Skate. The retro trailer shows you this :)
