Apparently this is developed with ARIKA? I don't know where the person I heard it from got that information, but that's ARIKA as in the Grand Masters ARIKA, which is...super crazy. And awesome. TETRIS BATTLE ROYALE.

I'm glad it's not just me having problems with hard drops happening when you don't expect them when using the pro controller. I had to switch to Joy Cons also.

I get Brad's point (and it should have probably launched at $40), but Tropical Freeze came out on the Wii U in 2014.

But yeah, this looks super cool. A nice surprise to hear that the Tetris: The Grand Master developers were involved with it, too!

best test is pressing left and right back and forth quickly, up and down inputs will slip in.

What? Why?

A couple things

1. Badges targeting goes after the people with KOs, each time you get one you get a little badge so Badges goes after the players with the biggest kill totals

2. The Tetris Company requires you to have Korobeiniki (the tetris song) in your game in order to get licensing approval. It's part of the brand rules.

$60 for a remake of a 25+ year old game is completely reasonable and I'm not being sarcastic.

There's a fix for the D-pad on the Pro Controller. I hope you're comfortable taking your electronics apart!

Also in the Stats screen there are two tabs right now: All and 99. The "All" implies to me that they're gonna add more modes eventually

Is there anywhere else to pay Nintendo to play the original Link's Awakening? To me, it seems like they took all of their ROMs off of the internet so they could 1) not put them back up themselves or 2) remake them and charge full price to play those games.

Don't get me wrong, I like a good Zelda game and I've never played Link's Awakening, but I don't $60 (or $90 after taxes in Canada) want to try Link's Awakening.

@processr: The Switch pro controllers are notorious for having incorrect input dpad issues. If you test inputs in the Switch settings by quickly alternating between left and right you'll occasionally receive up inputs. I first noticed this on Hollow Knight. I ordered 2 during black friday and only 1 had the issue, ended up selling it after Nintendo repair sent me back another controller that had the same issue.

It's on the 3DS eshop.

good catch. i would love to see some additional modes added even if there was a price tag attached.

have you tried the controller fix? i tried it on mine. on the inside was a screw that i struggled with and accidentally mangled a bit, to the point of not being able to take the screw out. eventually gave up and put the controller back together again. i officially *hate* the nintendo switch pro controller now >:-( *hmph!*

(especially annoying that i bought 2 around the time they came out, so have 2 controllers with crappy d-pads and that i hate using, which set me back $160 AUD... it's definitely a bit of a joke... *hmph* *grumble*..)

b). Those ROMs are still just a Google search away.

c). It's a remake, and therefore a markedly different audio/visual experience compared to running a Link's Awakening ROM

I know this is a selfish and unreasonable wish, but I just wish people stopped caring and talking about Tetris because it is so goddamn boring to watch and listen to.

How to lose at Tetris 99: focus on getting a tetris (or indeed anything high-scoring drop).

I'm not a massive fan of those 8bitdo Switch pads, but the D-pad is miles better than the Pro Controller's. I found this out when I bought Puyo Puyo Tetris and, sure enough, it's exactly the same with Tetris 99.
