So, spiritual successor to Until Dawn? I didn't even know this was a thing. Looks cool. Didn't watch far, but seems to have the same great writing from Until Dawn that played on expectation very well and turned cliches on their head.

Did the thumbnail get changed or am I losing it ?
Please do a playdate playthrough. please please please please. Also bring Austin Walker back in for that.
Did the thumbnail get changed or am I losing it ?
hahah, no I changed it! After about 10 minutes I realized it was just too much for me to be staring at all day on the front page.

Man of Medan without Dan? D:
Thank god. It was there when I clicked through, but when the page loaded, it was gone, and when I went back to the main page, it was gone there too.
What was the original thumbnail? :O
The original thumbnail was a spooky zombie ghost boy face closeup. So I get why Vinny changed it haha.
I wanna see if something like Highlander can get translated into this style of game
This was a great QL would love to see a Playdate some day :) looks like you had fun with this.
I feel like there's some serious uncanny valley going on in this. If I get this game, I'm going to spend the entire time trying to kill every character except for Fliss, and maybe Brad.
Weird, Im sure the curator/narrator is Pip Torrens, I recongise the voice and he is credited. However the face looks nothing like him.
The worst thing about this game is that the devs never ever bothered to learn how to say Medan properly, because they wanted it to rhyme with man and western devs dont need to learn funny foreign words i guess
Invite Austin and make this a playdate!
@robpigott: Ahh, thank you!I hope this might become a playdate~
The correct pronunciation still rhymes with man.
Until Dawn was incredible, I still need to go back to it and finish all the different paths.
Can't wait to play this! And it was only 25 on amazon.
For some reason unknown to me, I can only access the Youtube version. And that's running at 360p, there is no other option available.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Edit: Seems to be working just fine now some time later, huzzah.
This doesn't even look like it's on the same level as Until Dawn. Which is a shame because that game was incredible.
@tonybaloni: I was about to say this exact thing. Honestly I would gladly trade Burgle My Bananas for a regular ol playthrough of this thing.
Is there something wrong with the audio? Kinda sounds like a surround track with the center channel missing.
I love hearing Alex commentate over acting
This seems great! I didn't even know the Until Dawn folks had a new thing coming out.
@vinny: I haven't watched the quicklook yet, but I appreciate you setting the thumbnail to Don Bradman. I assume this is some sort of sports game then?

Looks great, along the lines of their other games but that's all I really want from these guys. Interesting how they've been experimenting with the multiplayer options these last couple games.
Super fun to watch, really enjoyed this quicklook. I would love to see a full play through from you guys if possible. :)
Look, I know most of the world has 50 inch, super high-res monitors now days, but I don't, so I really hope you can change the font size.
please make this a feature!
Yeah, thats why when I clicked it, and it was different on this page, then went back and it was changed there too I had a moment of "yep, finally broke the old brain"
Oh man, get Austin over there for a special event playdate.
man this needs to be a playdate!
this is really cool. I actually wish there were more games like this. I want to turn this off and play myself, but there are 8 billion games releasing around now/soon so I'll just back seat enjoy this QL and see how far they get. Again though, I wish developers would lean full in on cinematic decision making based games without so much adventure-game side shwag.
Okay this rules. The first story isn't as fun as the horny teen horror from Until Dawn yet I'm totally on board for a full playthrough with this crew. The Until Dawn playdates with Austin are some of the best content this site has ever done.
Yesss! I would love a full play date for this!
Hope this turns into a playdate some time!
I had to look up that band around the bicep. It's called a sleeve garter. It was used to roll up the sleeve of your shirt so the cuff wouldn't hang and get dirty.
Is that Khemmis doing the theme? Lol of course their in the credits. Hell yeah.
Pumping my fist with Alex
Please, new play date with this one. Would be so much fun!
The story to this game is based on the real life ghost story of The Ourang Medan, a dutch merchant ship found floating in the water where the entire crew was found dead, frozen and contorted in fear. It's such an interesting story and I'm excited that they decided to make a horror story based on the event.
I want a playdate of this so much!
@arjann: It doesn’t though, there’s a slight difference, in order for me to pronounce “man” the way I pronounce an Indonesian “dan” I have to make changes to the a. I can take or leave the way devs pronounce the dan but the me is the real lazy part. Also this is a topic of no interest to anyone other than me!
When I was a kid, I had a collection of stories titled "Unsolved Mysteries of Ships and Planes" which included the story of the Ourang Medan. I'm glad someone else knows of the legend (even if modern (boring) theories suggest that that ship was illegally smuggling a shipment of sulphuric acid which broke open, causing the crew to suffocate horribly as their lungs melted, accounting for their contorted bodies and expressions of terror).
Looks good, I'm gonna play this near Halloween.
@dasakamov: How is that boring? That sounds absolutely terrifying. I imagine most of theose who died probably had no idea what was happening.
I've never heard so many euphemisms for "beer" before. Just call it beer.
Edit: oh gosh all of the dialogue is like that. For some reason the tone just isn't quite there like it was with Until Dawn.
That Khemmis song is off a great 7-inch split with Spirit Adrift called "Fraught With Peril". Each band did a doomy cover of a classic song from the American South. Spirit Adrift's cover of 'Man of Constant Sorrow' is really great. The whole idea is like a doom-laden Soggy Bottom Boys.
Also the game looks great, lol.
All I'm saying is that if you're going to put heart rhythms into any sort of media... just spend the 5 seconds to google what it actually looks like.
