I agree wholeheartedly with Vinny, you can't call something wireless when it's attached to a 20 pound pack you have to carry with you; It's like the difference between the protosaber and the fully realized lightsaber :3

And yeah, wax museums are creepy, and I really don't understand the point. Almost every mannequin has the uncanny valley look with dead doll's eyes. The worse part is it looks like they have skin over their somehow chiseled facial deformities.

What's the word Vinny uses at about 11:43? Sounds familiar but I can't readily find it in the dictionary.

My teacher friends don't do shit during the summer, while complaining that they work too hard and don't have enough time off despite the other breaks they get. In fact, teachers seem to complain more about work than anyone else.

It's like they never moved past the structure of school.

As far as facebook goes, my facebook became 1000% percent when I just removed like 90% of my friends and culled the list down to only people I would actually like to still talk to.

On a related note this also lead to me not even being told about my 10 year high school reunion until 3 weeks after it happened

@csl316: I can understand where you're coming from with regards to teachers complaining about too much work and not enough breaks, but depending on a teacher's subject, a good chunk of one's weekends and breaks during the year can be consumed by work. I'm an English teacher, so a lot of my work ends up coming home with me every day. I spend much of my long weekends and seasonal breaks catching up on grading and planning lessons ahead for when school resumes.

Also, I take issue with your last sentence, which feels like a cheap shot. My life revolves around my work schedule. This isn't a phenomenon unique to school teachers, but I don't understand why you're trying to fault teachers for it. Sure, it's odd that we don't work our main jobs during the summer months, but that's not necessarily by choice. How do you suggest that I "move past the structure of school"?

As the son of a teacher, I can confirm that teachers don't do shit during the summer. And it's not a seniority thing. A friend of my mine who just finished his first year as a high school history teacher told me that he might just go backpacking through Europe this summer.

And to be clear, this is not me saying that teaching is a easy job or anything. It's an invaluable difficult job but it's a pretty sweet gig during the summer, for sure.

Rhythm Heaven on the DS had touchscreen inputs, and I think it suffered because of that; that game demanded super-accurate inputs, so swipes not registering when they needed to was a real pain. I don't think it would do very well as a mobile game.

Elite Beat Agents is one of those series I wish they would take another crack at. That, and Advance Wars.

According to their site, EMF's name actually stands for "Epsom Mad Funkers".

My high school reunion was fine, though that may be because it was just a picnic in a park and I was at least acquainted and on good terms with everyone there.

Facebook isn't so bad if you make liberal use of the filters and hide post features, though being at the point where I find pictures of babies, pets, and even food preferable because of all the armchair statuses going around is a bit saddening.

I looked up the Sims 2 corruption, that's pretty rough especially to lose something you spent so much time on. While not on the same time scale, I put in about 200-300 hours on a single city in Cities:Skyline and it was my first city I ever committed to and also happened to be my most successful. For some inexplicable reason Steam Cloud overwrote my save files with very old files and all my backup save files when loading had some kind of error when loading up. I tried a lot of things to find a fix and was pretty sad when I pretty much resigned to the fact that if I ever wanted the city back it'd have to be done from scratch. It's really hard to reclaim the magic of something you put a lot of work into. I could probably make the city a better version of what it was from before, but it just really sucks to lose anything you put a lot of time and care into. Any itch I get to play Cities, I find I only want to go back to particular save. Now I can't really play it anymore because of that.

The discussion of the nebulous grouping of NY sports teams at the end is shamefully exclusionary to non-northeasterners but I love it! Alex, Vinny & Bakalar premium sports pod please.

@brad: It's usually not about the topic and hand but more of a sideways thing. E.g. Talking about one game by invoking some key event or plot point from another.

That being said I play most games years after release so I'm sure you'll usually consider the statute of limitations on those spoilers to have run out by then.

I'll check if I can find some old examples. Might take a while.

I think Twitter is best for interacting with celebrities and strangers, and Facebook is best for interacting with people you know. With all due respect, you guys are celebrities with tens of thousands of followers on Twitter, so your relationship with Twitter is probably different from that of a normal person with a handful of followers. I think Facebook is far better place for having serious discussions about current events because (A) it's easier to control who you are actually having that discussion with and (B) your hot takes aren't limited to 140 characters.

I was simply making a joke based on what the guys were saying. To my memory I can't recall a single time you've ever went on to actually spoil something. As the guys on the Beastcast said, you'll often go through that funny "ohhh! ughh theres this ONE thing oh you HAVE to see I want to talk about it so bad!" but then you never actually do as usually Jeff or someone will move the conversation along.

Of course spoilers mean different things for different people. For the record I don't consider naming a few bosses in Dark Souls 3 as "spoiling" anything. Thats just ridiculous. Souls enthusiasts are kind of nuts anyway and should not be interacted with at length.

Thank you Vinny for giving a friendly heads up to Brad about spoilers. You'd think Jeff telling him that certain specifics were unnecessary for the type of conversation they were having would be enough. You guys handled the Inside talk well.
