I like Naughty Dog as a developer and even The Last of Us, but this remake stinks of arrogance and hubris. It didn't need to happen, and they're charging 70 bucks for it.

Shameful.

@av_gamer: The first I heard it would be full price was from seeing the graphic in this quick look and my whole face scrunched up like Max Payne. Like, it looks better, but certainly not seventy dollars better.

To be honest, there are a LOT of really amazing accessibility options that makes this game playable for a big group of people that could not have experienced it. For folks who haven't played it before the 70 might not be worth it, but there's going to be many that are playing it for the first time. Would be nice to see at least some attention paid to that :/

lul, i get the joke (i thought there was an upload error when i saw the thumbnail). but to show nothing of even just the new accessibility features available seems kinda lame/wasted opportunity.

All jokes aside, I think this is a pretty lackluster remake. The one thing that could really have set this apart from the already existing remaster was implementing the gameplay improvements from Part II. ND didn't do that. 70 dollars for improved visuals is not good enough.

Naughty Dog are maybe starting to think a little too highly of themselves. I hope this will be a humbling experience for them. They are one of my absolute favorite developers but if this remake is a sign of a new ND then I'm not excited about that.

I really hope their next single player game is a completely new IP. I know they are working on a multiplayer Last of Us game as well, so I'm not counting that.

But I want to see ND move away from TLOU now. And I say this as someone that LOVES part I. I have probably beaten that game 4-5 times by now.

But this remake... it's just too much money for "only" better visuals.

@bobbykatz: that's great to see, I will look into that and try it again, the "remaster" or whatever the PS4 Version now is called was almost not playable for me because of the lack of those options.

@castiel: I totaly agree!

The joke is fun enough, but yeah the massive work ND have made with accessibility options once again deserve some mention, it's easy for us with perfect eye sight, motoric skills and everything else, to call this version unnecessary, but if you look besides the price, and sees what people with disabilities get for a game they have never played before, this is a fine package.

And I think it's a bit mocking to not at least appreciate that part.

i'm not a dev nor business man, so i truthfully don't know. from what little i understand, the new features go beyond the scope of a patch. but in any case i'm just stoked more people are going to get a version of the game that plays and looks better for them.

@av_gamer: The PS4 remaster is still sufficient. I played that a couple months before 2 came out, and it still looks great. Definitely unnecessary, especially at $70
