We Talk Over: The PlayStation 5 September Event (The Price One!)

No reason to get either consoles at the moment. Better to wait a year for games to come out.

Sony has told Kotaku that the trailer was a mistake and attributed the incorrect information to “human error”, confirming that Demon’s Souls will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 so no PC version.

Preorders are already sold out in Australia of 2020. Either that’s means there is low supply or high demand (or both). By comparison you can still preorder Xbox series x & s for 2020.

Personally here I’m waiting until PS5 game prices settle down. AUD $125 is absurd for a new game with no dlc etc. Outisde of EBgames new physical games would be AUD $80 max.

Damn dude, Bluepoint doesn't ever f* around, do they. I beat Demon's Souls once on ps3, and put my From Software hat on the rack early- but man I'll replay this whenever I manage to own a PS5/if it were to come to PC.

Otherwise, cool, video games continue on, glad Sony can still compete on pricing, definitely no day one sale and most probably no year one buy from me either, but if I had to lean one way on either console before buying a 3080, PS5 for sure.

Given how it seems like all the PS5's are already sold out at different locations, I'm one of the lucky ones to have gotten an invite from Sony to pre-order it directly from their website. Hope it goes well.

Demon Souls looks incredible graphically. It’s too bad I’ll end up hating the gameplay.

The discless version is perfect for me, I live in a tiny apartment with my wife and haven't purchased physical media in a long while.

I have a decent PC, so the XboxSS/X (I hate their naming conventions) isn't really of any use to me at the moment as I also intend to upgrade my PC next year once the 3070 gets into the market.

I honestly hope both systems do well, competition and marketplace change is a godo thing and its for the best that both systems have their pluses and minuses.

Neither of those trailers have done anything to sell me on the game (and I'm a big fan of 7 and RE2 remake).

Way too expensive, maybe when it's under $300 in Canada.

Could be worse: PS5 and XSX disc versions are $749 (~US$545) here in Australia.

So yeah, we actually don't believe in generations anymore and sorry pre-orders are gone lol.

At least the prices are competitive which we can thank Microsoft for.

That is why people are mad about it, but really the games coming out in first year or two most likely still wouldn't do that anyway.

People were hoping Horizon would be that way as well. Guerrilla is the same studio that gave us Killzone Shadowfall right at PS4 launch which looked much better than PS3 games.

Its another post Y2K console launch so I'm sticking with waiting.

Besides, maybe the Slim will be a bit less aesthetically flamboyant.

Got my pre-order peacefully from BestBuy.ca minutes after they surprise-opened pre-orders. Digital edition, $565. The launch games all LOOK amazing, but I'm not buying any day one. I just want to replace my launch PS4 so bad.

Yeaaah, good luck with that. The current price of a PS4 slim appears to be $379.99.

Unless you're buying a used console, you might be waiting until the PS6 is out.

Genuinely shocked we get Spider-Man and Demon's Souls at launch, considering the setbacks this year. Mind you, that may mean these games are very buggy but whatever. I'm happy to have them. It's going to be a blast playing Demon's Souls while rewatching the GB playthrough of the original alongside.
