Jeff talks about soccer way more than a lot of people who actually watch soccer. Doesn't really bother me but we get it, you don't like soccer. It is cool. Nobody is forcing you.

If it's that kind of crap, I think I will skip it. Americans ( and I am American) whining about soccer is one of my least favorite things of the past decade.

As someone from the US but currently living in Europe I can say that the occasional jabs at soccer or culture that Jeff engages in is absolutely nothing compared to the amount of jeering and mocking you see of the US over here.

If the anime switcheroo is anything to go by, I predict four years from now Jeff will be hosting a World Cup podcast.

Life tip, you don't need to take it personally when someone makes fun of a thing you like. It's not a slight on you as a person. As a football (soccer) fan and occasional toker I find Jeff's persistent disdain for football and weed amusing. Jeff on anything he has disdain for is usually pretty funny.

@ptys: It should really be called Hand Egg, to better reflect the reality.

American disdain for and ignorance of soccer is mildly annoying.

Much worse though is your typical association football fans’ traits such as:

* Ignorance of every single other sport in the world

* Ignorance of the sport of association football when played in or by people from outside Europe and certain parts of South America.

* Holding the incorrect notion that the word “soccer” is American

* Idiotically deriding other sports called “football” when their players hold the ball in their hands as if that isn’t extremely common and necessary in the sport of association football too.

I rebuy games on Switch because I’ll actually play them there. Playing games on a PC are a fucking pain in the ass, because the PC has to be turned on to play the dang games, and playing games on a PS4 usually requires sitting in front of a big dumb TV.

Also, I’m one of those people that hate talking on a phone and will only answer the phone if four different people call me, and those people *never* call me.

If you can watch hockey, you can watch soccer...literally the only two sports that have the same tempo and rhythm and flow. If you still refer to soccer as the game where people just dive and exaggerate a lot then your really doing yourself and the sport a disservice. There is a reason why it's the 'world's' sport, and no...saying it takes too long couldn't be far from the truth. Go watch an NBA or a NFL game and come back to me and tell me why you spend 2/3rd's of the watch time watching commercials and time outs.
