This Is the Run: This Is for Fun: Contra: Hard Corps - Part 01

Always happy to watch Vinny and Dan play more Contra.

This has got to be the most rippin' game of all time. I mean that music of that final boss fight.. damn! Also I'd totally believe if Hard Corps was the most expensive game of the era, it's just an insane production.

Maybe just hold it out, forget about the feathering. Just give him the business.

I really want them to play Hard Corps: Uprising, but I'm pretty sure that that game features a save function, so I don't think that it would really fit the spirit of the feature. Also, not sure if that game is really ridiculously difficult or not (I don't quite remember).

@ultimaxe: I remember Uprising being pretty darn hard, not sure if I ever beat it, to be honest. if they wanted to stick with Contra, Shattered Soldier on PS2 might be a fun run, I like that game a lot.

I’d love to see them do a Wild Guns (Reloaded, maybe?) 1cc run, personally. Really fun game that is an arcady shooter in the spirit of this series and not absurdly hard, would probably take them half a dozen episodes.

With this further shows Dan was the weakest link

Vinny playing as Browny after beating the game as Shanna is like Goku or Piccolo taking off their weighted training clothes.

A reference I'm quite frankly shocked neither of them made.

Kind of wished they had planned ahead a bit more with the flowchart and saved states so they could have gotten all the other endings in one bonus episode. Nothing against Contra, just be nice to have it in the books so they could move on to something else.

They used the exact title I said they should!

BTW they ask if the boss pattern changes during the hallway Deadeye Joe fight. I think it does actually. Why? Because Joe is already dead! Note how he's not shown during the fight.

So they had to program two versions of that boss and either forgot to put the missle flag in, or decided to modify it on purpose. I bet it's a goof.

Abby is correct. Tortas are fucking amazing. I eat one maybe once every couple of weeks. If you live in Chicago, you can probably find a lot of good tortas at Dona Torta or Cemitas Puebla.

However, if you happen to be in O'Hare airport, stop by Rick Bayless' Torta Frontera in Terminal 1.

Hate to be the one complaining about how they play the game, but why the heck didn't they turn up lives/continues in the options?

Castlevania music!!!! OMG! I love that lol.

If you have a second player (that is still in the game... it's really funny that this keeps happening), they replace the monkey bride in the time travel ending.

Also, Brad Fang is shooting his gun-arm into the air, when he's there.
