Oh what a feeling when you're scarab on the ceiling.

I was playing Metal Slug 3 last night, and this reminds me of that series in how it throws so many untelegraphed boss behavior patterns at you without caring if you can reasonably keep up.

They have to beat all routes, right?

I love these crazy bosses and they’ll only get more insane. Expecting them to finish this maybe next year!

That character select screen's backbeat is very "Baby Got Back"

15 minutes... Obviously The Run

Lol, poor guys. You're actually doing all right! The scarab is one of the trickiest enemies to figure out in this game. While this version of level 2 is a bit harder, this route actually ends up being shorter (less levels) and easier in the end. And it's got one of the best endings. You can do it!

To tell the truth, I didn't see much of the previous runs. But I actually wish they would tack 10 minutes or so onto this one, I'm enjoying watching this. Somewhere between the explody colors and the difficulty.

10 minutes shorter than the last episodes....I love it.

Konami on Genesis put out some killer soundtracks - this is giving me Rocket Knight Adventures vibes and that soundtrack is the BOOOOOMB

@pumpkinheaddy: I'm not surprised to learn Akira Yamaoka worked on all these games.

I only played the sequel Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2, and that had a sick soundtrack too.

The wolf is kind of a "pro"-tier char.. His B, C and D are all kind of awkward for general use.

OK, I can totally see the Cuphead connection with this episode.

Vinny... Sheena's D weapon is also a spread... that is actually a bunch of homing lasers. You'd like it.

Also the dog, aka Brad Fang (lol) is considered hard mode. A lot of his powerups require you to either not be continuously shooting (D), or reeeally close range (B). Plus he's taller than the other characters, and his slide is shorter.

Also also, slides make you invincible, and some bosses require you to slide.

More like this is the speed run, amirite!

I assume they've seen the 10,000 people posting that they need to use the slide, but just in case: it's invincible, abuse the hell out of it.

Vinny should consider giving Fang a rest. His hit box is too large, and you're as good as dead if you pick up the wrong weapon at the wrong time if you aren't prepared for the change.

Browny's arguably the best character, since he has the smallest hit box and some of the best damage output. The yo-yo weapon is best used by tapping the fire button, not holding it, as it'll home in on the enemy more quickly that way, and its damage output is ridiculous (in a good way).

Sheena's my personal favorite character, and I'd place her behind Browny in terms of ease of use. Her homing laser is amazing, and she's got a very good selection of weapons in general. Ray isn't bad, as he's definitely classic Contra in terms of weapon load-out, but I always preferred Sheena's weapons. I'd suggest that Vinny stick with Sheena or Ray, unless he's prepared to get a *lot* better at dodging as Fang.

Go After Deadeye Joe is one of the craziest levels in the game.

Not by that much, though. There's a whole shitload of exploding madness yet to see.

Don't tell Vinny to give up on Fang. Fang is clearly the right character. Have noticed he's a dog in sunglasses with a gat for an arm.

Oh, man. That episode length.

Oooookay, this one's gonna take quite a while. I love it.

One additional tip I can give is that always remember that you only lose the weapon that you're currently using when you die. Therefore, if you've got a weapon you really want to hang on to (e.g. the spread), and you get yourself in a tight spot, it's not a bad idea at all to quickly switch over to your default weapon or a weapon you wouldn't mind losing.

Party Gun would be a great band name.

This game is perfect for this. It's so absolutely ridiculous.

The title screen music sounds like Sir Mix A Lot's Baby Got Back.

About to start the video - just wanted to point out that seeing the video is 15 minutes long lets me know that either they kicked the most ass, or they got their asses handed to them. Either way, I'm looking forward to it.
